i am glad the rewarded him before Revis. He wants to bitch about being paid $1 million this year he should fire his agents since this is the contract he held out for. He knew from day one that he would only make $1 million this year. Mangold was making $3.3 this year because his rookie deal had escalator clauses that got him more money. They have no signed Ferg and Mangold - taking care of their own with nice deals so Revis and his agents can't bitch about the Jets not giving out contracts. Maybe this will put more pressure on them to make a deal since they are looking worse every day.
Harris can't sign until the offseason because with an uncapped year he can only take a 30% bump in base salary which won't work since he was a second round pick. As of now the ball is in Revis' court.

Considering that the 'details' are entirely irrelevant until we have a new CBA in place, I'd say it's perfectly merited to be excited about the length and average of the deal, specifically as compared to the former highest contract at his position, without knowing specifically how it breaks down.

Best center in the league locked up!

    This is great news.

Most consistent player on our team since he was drafted...

    Mangold>Ferguson>Revis?

By the way, Tannenbaum is the man BY FAR.

On draft day, I was pumped to have Ferguson and Mangold drafted, but I was a little sad because I realized the odds were against re-signing both. Yet, Tanny amazes again.....

I could show you a highlight film of Drew Coleman's 5 good plays in his life and you would be begging to get him.

    Highlight films are deceiving.

Goes to show if you show up and not create a disturbance the team will reward you for your hard work. If you carry on like a child and insult the team you won't get your way.

Revis could have been the best sport during Training Camp and I still don't think it would have compelled Woody to give him what he wants (Aso money). He'll get his extension anyway.

Revis looks so freakin greedy and so freakin bad in this whole thing, it's not even a discussion. And now rumors that the Jets have offerred 122 million for 10 years and he wants 162 million? Absolute joke.

Excellent! If Revis won't take the money, atleast use it to lock up the other core players.

I am sure I am late, but has it been explained as to why Mangold had his deal reconstructed now and not at the end of the season as planned?

Either case, great news here. Mangold deserves it.

Nope. We're just theorizing, but in all likelihood Tanny was sending a message as part of it.

Cheap fucking Jets they never pay there good players and everyone and anyone who knows anything about Football knows this to be true. An there stupid fans are always claiming that they do and that there idiot GM actually has a clue. There owner Woody Johnson is so fucking cheap getting money out of his ass is like trying to shake wet power out of a J&J bottle.........:breakdance:

Fuck all the know it all assholes who write and report about this sport, Jets fans have more knowledge in there pinky about what is going on then any of you so call experts....

Great job Tanny, and Nick, don't spent it all in one place kid, you deserve every damn penny.......

Deal is not done yet...they still have to agree on the guaranteed money. That's the same issue with Revis.

What's ironic is that whenever they ask Woody he says, It's not about the money yet, His sticking point seems to always be the signing bonuses/Guaranteed money...hmmm...not about the money huh.

    That said,
If the deal gets done This is the 1st time I can remember where they opened their wallets for a Drafted JETS player who is deserving of getting paid

    Hopefully it's not the last.
