Not to fly off topic here, but in reality, all religions get their fair share from posters here. Except for Buddhism. That's pretty much off limits.
The one thing Cowlishaw said that piqued my curiosity was that he thought the guaranteed money was sky high..much higher than he thought it would be. That doesn't sound like the Jets to me.
It wouldn't be the first time I was a little off. My whole point was that it makes a lot of sense for the idea for this to be coming from the Revis camp. Obviously if HBO is filming all of the negotiations now, both sides would be well aware of it. The fact that it's still quiet officially and with NY media tells me that it wasn't the Jets' idea. Like you said, the only thing they have to gain from dealing with it like this is that they get Revis back in the fold. As a side note, I'm guessing HBO has caught wind of negotiations regardless of the media rule. They simply can't SHOW it in the media. I'd assume HBO has still been around during some of the phone calls.
Yes, it really sounds like the inside information is valid and revis will either sign wednesday or saturday. Im just confused why those 2 dates are being used.
1050 is talking about it now, that Calishaw has reported that a Mevis deal will be announced this week... Micheal Kay has Shefter on now Shefter says 95% no chance!
Probably a good sized signing bonus and some leeway on the injury/skill front. I'd guess if it's THAT out of line, it's only guaranteed against skill and Revis will take out an injury insurance policy like Brick did. AFAIC, the Jets can offer any amount of guaranteed money as long as it's not guaranteed against injury.
Not necessarily true as we saw with D'Brick's deal. Although, I do think that a large portion of any guaranteed money in this case will be through a signing bonus.
Him and all beat writers too, means nothing in this scenario that was proposed. All negotiations are silent so who would confirm to any media outlet? If this was a broken story or not, neither side wants to ruin anything at this point.
A large signing bonus would fix many of the problems that were keeping the two sides far apart on the negotiations so that would not come as a huge surprise to me, even though it is not typical of the FO.
Cowlishaw's source is clearly not involved directly with the Jets or Revis because they've agreed to keep quiet about the contract negotiations. It's probably an HBO source.
