I was thinking about this today, why not hold out? Its one way to get your name on every television in America, create tons of notoriety without actually having to engage in bad behavior, and become a household name in general. So you already have a shoe commercial, why not keep shooting for more? In the end, not only do you get a big contract, but you've lined yourself up to be the next Deion. Of course, if you just show up and do your job, nobody knows (or cares) who the hell you are outside of the Jets fans.
Wasn't he totally wrong on some rumor last year? I forget now what it was (Sanders that is). I don't think he is trustworthy enough to be the source.
LOL. Think about it... Revis has thus far refused to appear on camera at all. Period. Cowlishaw has had past contact with HBO. Revis's team approaches HBO, letting them put together a Revis-centered story line for the show provided they put the spin on that the Revis team wants. What better way to restore your image than through HBO? The spread of this is perfectly timed to get people to tune in. I'm guessing we have access to Revis on Wednesday night and that some of the beat writers get word that he signs tomorrow.
Mack good write up. Watch out for comparing football players to soldiers...writers and players have been burned doing so before.
Very relaxed, very sure of himself, no stuttering or stammering over his story. He was very confident, not at all like somebody who realizes he may have just flushed his career down the toilet and wants out of the mess. If he's in any way unsure, I'll have to admit he fooled me.
That's true. Someone at work who barely folllows football came up to me the other day and said "Hey, do you think your Jets can win the Super Bowl without that Revis guy?"
I'm really hoping this is true. I was ready to trade him, but we obviously wouldnt be the same team without him. JETS ABbAQYbaybylisdfbjk
I still get the feeling that what he might be saying is that Revis plans to walk back in on Wednesday and take the best offer on the table. That would be why nobody else can find out anything.
Good Revis comes back, fixes his image, and were looking good resigning our players VOLTRON FORCE ASSEMBLE
The parties previously agreed on a media blackout. If the sleazebags representing Mevi$ have just decided to unilaterally violate their own agreement that the just entered into a week ago - that obviously would reveal them once again to be sleazebags who cannot be trusted to even live up to a simple media blackout agreement. If however Mevi$ and the Jets have a done deal and as part of that deal the Jets agreed to allow Mevi$ to work w/HBO as part of a segment culminating in the signing of the contract on HBO - then this makes some sense.
They agreed not to discuss the negotiations in the media. There's a huge difference between that and simply telling HBO to be ready because he's going to sign and give them access to his personal life. Besides, have we seen an official comment from the Jets on this?
Hey Al, I'm not sure you understand how the internets and message boards work. They are a clearinghouse for opinions and suggestions, where anyone can post what they think and gauge their opinions against those of other people. This is my opinion of you: You can go fuck yourself. I eagerly await the opinions of other people, to see if we share similar ideas!
