FWIW this is from Nick Spano's, whoever the fuck that is, twitter page: # #3. Tim is a VERY respected writer, just look at the big names backing him even with sources denying the reports ( Mortensen, King, etc) about 1 hour ago via web # #2. Tim Cowlishaw's recent familiarity with the HBO Hardknocks crew, Tim works for the Dallas Morning News, remem. DALLAS was on HardKnocks about 1 hour ago via web # #1. Media blackout for reporters (Jets beats) none of them have any info, seem to be scrambling, to the reason on the recent Mangold info about 1 hour ago via web Revis will get done, im 100% sure, not sure if its wednesday, but then Harris next offseason.... Franchise either Cro/BE/Holmes .. sign 1/2 about 1 hour ago via web thats GREAT GREAT news that much like DBricks contract, Mangold doesnt get much upfront money, REVIS wants MOST upfront, hmm more good news. 37 minutes ago via web @Director_Writer DEFINITELY, the deal will be done soon, sure about it, right now, im 100% on the Cowlishaw bus, Cautiously optimistic. . 21 minutes ago via web in reply to Director_Writer @JetsInsider could be good news, Brick/Mangold got less front loaded $, which Revis was all of that, could mean a deals coming. IMO 17 minutes ago via web in reply to JetsInsider
Agent Smart: " If I was you I would give up. We have the entire British Navy outside right now" Chaos: "We don't believe you Agent Smart". Agent Smart: "Would you believe 2 boy scouts in a rowboat?" Chaos: "No We would not! "
Yeah the Gunga Din one was Don Adams too, that was his material. Maxwell Smart is by far my favorite TV character ever. I used to practice his beady-eyed look in the mirror for when a teacher was asking me a question I didn't want to answer.
You wouldn't happen to have a cone of silence would you? Get Smart was funny as hell, right up there with that other forgotten tv show, F-Troop.
I don't know why anyone thinks Hark Knocks has anything to do with this. Hard Knocks is a taped show that boils hundreds of hours of film a week into a one hour show. There is not going to be anything "live" on that show. Second, if you think the Jets care one bit about announcing a deal on Wednesday because of Hard Knocks, you are crazy. The Jets would just want to get this done and over with. The day of the week means nothing. As for whether it is true or not, who knows? Personnally, I would prefere that the Mangold deal get done first. The OL is far more important to the success of this team than a CB and Mangold has been a good soldier and a team player by not holding out. He deserves his contract before Mevi$. It would send a great message to the Revis team - if you are in camp, you get a new, fair contract. If you hold out, you get squat other than daily fines. As for those who keep criticizing Tanny and Woody about the Revis situation, you are being ignorant and ridiculous. The amount of money Woody and J&J have nothing to do with the amount of money Jets players are paid. Tannenbaum is not a liar and has had tremendous success signing anybody not represented by Schwartz & crew or Keels and not asking for ridiculous amounts of money. And this being an uncapped year makes it HARDER to sign players, not easier. Every NFL team knows a cap is coming back and nobody wants to hamstring their team by signing a player to a contract that is likely to make them non-competitive in a year or two. That explains why Manning and Brady aren't signed yet.
Excellent post. Also, I think the Mangold deal is more important cus he's a free agent at the end of the year. The Jets have Revis' rights for 3 more years
LOL I can hear Rex's speech now.........." 2 unceremoniously axed tv shows and the Fucking New York Jets"
You have no idea how the editing process works. They don't just edit the footage once all of the footage is captured. They edit (meaning log and cut video) segments as they come in. They got the Giants game in the 1st episode and they were already filming for a week. If Revis signed Tuesday night, they could edit the footage in for Wednesday airing. trust.
Why else would they wait till Wednesday to announce a deal if they've agreed to one already? It's fishy and smells of Hard Knocks promo. If anything they might announce or leak it the night before (Tuesday) to really get people curious about the next night's episode and see the reactions at the end of the show to Saint Revis's return.
I keep refreshing this guys twitter. So far he is sticking to his guns about Revis. God I hope hes right.
Who cares if they announce it during Hard Knocks? We'll know the deal is finalized by Tuesday anyway.
