I know, but I'm talking more about the Bills offense. The starters got 24 points in the first half off of Indy's starters, including a Trent Edwards 70 yd TD to Lee Evans. CJ Spiller had a 31 yd TD run. The D had a 78 yd TD pick 6. Of course pre-season means jack, but still, that was refreshing.
I thought he looked a little less explosive than he normally is.Still impressive that he's back on the field though.
That was my point. I didn't say he was excellent, but just acknowledging he was moving well. I'm impressed with his progress. Fred Taylor looked good too but I don't know if that means anything at this point. Brady to Moss looked good..I'm sounding like a Pats homer here.
The thing that looks best is the big TE's helping the running game, and the two rookie TE's along with Edelman look like offensive optionas already. The pats need to go back to throwing to the open man rather than trying to force the ball to Welker an Moss, because the Jets DB's can shut that right down IMO.
Anyone see Leon's touchdown? Bad ass. Everyone talking abou Welker's healing ability, I am more impressed with Washington. He will be good in Seattle.
So how about those Dolphins starters getting it done in the rain? First team offense looked real good. Chad Henne was almost perfect. B-Marsh finally caught a ball. Offensive line looked outstanding. Ricky looked quick. Tight ends looked stellar blocking, and receiving. Ronnie didn't do much. Neither did the running game really. Defensive line looked good. Line backers played well and actually did something I haven't seen in a while...cover somebody. But the secondary still looked soft. And our kick coverage was absolute garbage (despite recovering a fumble). Overall the first teamers were pretty impressive considering it was pouring. Henne was 11/14 for 151 yards (with 2 drops) 2 TD's and a 151 QB rating before getting pulled with 6 1/2 minutes left in the 2nd quarter! Not bad for a quarter and a half work.
Meh. Like last year I think the only impact the Phins will have on the division is in potentially fucking things up for either the Jets or Pats.
Lions in Denver... - Stafford looked really good. Total command of the offense and showed great accuracy. - Best is going to be a good one. Runs inside the Ts better than expected. - Calvin will be the #1 WR in the NFL this year. Dude is going to get a lot of looks inside the red zone and he looks to have the hop back in his step. Burleson is an excellent compliment and has really helped CJ. - Suh flashing already. Pancaked Ryan Harris, tipped a few passes and was in Orton's grill a lot. The front four should be elite as Williams, Avril and KVB all brought pressure and they have good depth on the DL. - Addition of Sims and the return of Peterman has solidified the OL. They will be a top 15 rushing team this year. - The rest of the team sucks and the team lacks depth at CB, LB and S. They should be a fun team to watch, even though they'll probably only win 5-6 games this year.
Joe Theismann used the term "preseasonish" last night during the Ravens-Redskins game. His partner Mike Patrick uttered the phrase "deflect-o by Orakpo".
So Favre comes back in the nick of time for an NBC prime time telecast...god I hate that self-serving pos.
