Point is...his units are typically top 5 out of the league.... I don't know if it's dislike of me or homoerotic attraction that makes DOTTHR argue against logic...but whatever..Rich Miano pointed it out clearly enough above. I was shocked that CMAN ducked the argument by blaming me.
Dunno. Maybe you could ask Terrell Thomas? Brooking needs to get off the juice. It's affecting his ability to think clearly.
brooking is entitled to his opinion, but hey brooking, yo brooking, what have you accomplished? you never been to any type of championship game let alone a superbowl, so i think you should have been the one to keep your mouth zipped.
calm down bros, its really no big deal, we dont have to examine and blast someones career and team everytime we get negative press from someone
Hobbes, you have a way of wearing people down man. Long debates with you tends to do that to people sometimes. Yeah, as it turns out, we're in agreement about Pastor Dungy minding his business. I just misread his intent that's all. Have a nice day!
I love that the Cowboys are commenting on the Jets. We don't play them this year, we're not competing against them for a Wild Card, but they are thinking about us and they're obviously worried. We're coming.
I'll take "white guy in his 30's acts like a fool to motivate younger black teammates" for $800, Alex.
We have a team that talks alot so if we can watch our guys dish it out we need to be able to take it too.
There sure are a lot of people saying that we talk too much....But aren't they running their mouths when they are doing this?
All I know is after seeing Shonn Greene run the ball & Sanchez distribute the ball so equally, we will be able to back up all the talkin we doing
RR has only ran the top D in the league for how many years??? brooking being a lb should know right off the top of his peebrain that well known fact.
My favorite Keith Brooking moment was when Bryan Cox was briefly employed as an analyst for some football pre-game show (believe it was ESPN's) and Brooking was still on the Falcons... when predicting the outcome of the divisional playoff game about to go down (forget who it was against), Cox said of Brooking-- and I quote this verbatim-- that "he's not that good." Cracked my shit up.
Better get used to this. If the Jets play up to the level they've talked they will be the most hated team in the league. Now that would be awesome. They're pretty much there already. Nobody hates shitty teams.... (Except the Dolphins.)
^^^^^ If that is the price the Jets pay for stomping ass I am so down with it. Let them all be haters as long as the Jets have the last laugh.
Dom Capers D's have never been to a SB let alone win one. Pitt amde one the year after he left, his jax D in '99 was 1st in PA during the season then got torched in the title game at home, he ahd the one surprise yeara s a HC w/ Carolina and never had another playoff season in 8 total years as a HC and GB had a good regular season D but got torched in the WC game against Ari. Capers is a very overrated coach. Lebeau was on the staff of the '81 AFC CHamp bengals, was the DC of the '88 AFC Champ bengals who held SF to only 20 pts in a game where the Cincy O did very little(7 of Cincy's 16 pts came on a KR), he was the DC of Pitt's AFC Champion team in '95 and they lost a close game to a hig powered Dallas team more thanks to INTs and he has been the DC for 2 SB Champs in the last 5 years.
I have to point this out. That 'D' gave up a last minute TD to the 49ers that lost the game. But you use the reverse of that same logic you used above, against the Pats defense and say the Pats defense blew the game or blew a late lead despite only giving up only 17 points (first to STL in SB XXXVI and then to the NYG in SB XLII) when you are defending Tom Brady. I don’t disagree with the point you made above. I actually have said several times on here that I thought LeBeau should have gone into the HOF as an asst. coach. But this is an example of how you spin things to suit your argument.
This tends to be your problem, you just see black and white. NE blew the SB in the last 2 1/2 mins against a team that needed to score a TD and an O that was mediocre at best. Cincy blew the game against a legendary O that had the luxury of knowing they only needed a FG to tie. Similar situations? Sure, but also very different and not the first time in a SB that the NE D broke down late in a game- it was actually the THIRD time.
The problem really is that you have one set of rules for Brady and one for everyone else. Cincinnati's defense should have played tougher knowing that SF only needed a FG. PLUS, SF started the drive from their own 8 yard line with only 3:10 left on the clock. That's not helping your argument.
