Anyone else really impressed by Cro's reach? You think the window is there, and then his arms come across a wide open WR and the ball is in his hands. Goddamn what an investment. And I love Mike Pettine. We should always give credit to Pettine with this defense, not just Rex. He has a great mind, he'll be given a shot one day.
I loved seeing Holmes trying to coach up McKnight and push him to asking more questions of the coaching staff and players.
I honestly just had to shake my head while Antonio was talking about his kids. I think he's gonna join the NFL players who go bankrupt within two years of retirement statistics. Good luck to him! There are certain players not getting enough shine that I hope will in future episodes.
Also noticed when they showed a closeup of Sanchez taking a snap, he didn't change his hands like Namath told him.
You know, in my mind I originally thought of Pettine as a figurehead def. coordinator for Rex until I watched Hard Knocks. The guy is focused and no nonsense.
Bahahaha, that Namath part was so funny. It was pretty obvious that Namath was mugging for the cameras and the Jets let him run around and play coach for an hour or so since it was raining out. Then they changed the subject to how he liked to bang a lot of women. That was the part that had Sanchez paying attention to Namath.
I was waiting for him to forget one of their names. Looked like he was struggling to remember them a bit.
I thought that was the best part of the show. And most of his kids were 3 years old. 2007 wasn't just a good football year for him.
After watching last night's episode, I'm really pulling for Holmes to have a great year so we can keep him.
One thing that really made an impression on me from last night's episode was how solid our Assistant Coaches seem to be. Pettine seems like a guy who will be on the radar for a Head Coaching position in the not so distant future if the Jets' D continues to play well. Westhoff is of course, still Westhoff. I love how Lynn was all over Mcknight and Thurman was all over Cromartie.
I posted this in the wrong thread so I'll post it again here: Anyone still feeling good about McKnight? It's still early but man he looks terrible and it looks like he's not even giving effort.
We should all pitch in and send Orange icees, tic-tacs, serbert, or any other orange snacks to camp for mark
The latter seems more like it to me. He was supposed to be a Bush esque runner. That didn't happen. Bush can't succeed with that back and forth style of running in the NFL so how would you expect McKnight to? He doesnt seem to want to change and runs upright looking to go lateral and use speed. All DBs are fast in this league and he should start worrying about the 4th yard instead of looking ahead to try and get the 12th or 13th. if you get to that 4th yard using low pads and blockers you can bust out with speed to hopefully get in the open. Rex even told him to start hitting the pocket harder and he will come busting out the other end. at that point you can use your moves. hell you can do a dance for all i care after that. as long as you get 4 yards, hold onto the ball and fall forward
they got em already. OMG... how bout a bunch of Snuggies, slapchops, shamwows, and those old ab shocking things that were possibly had the stupidest target audience ever.
And in that shot Sanchez didn't look the coach in the eye. It was very disappointing to see him act like a teenager. Kid is still very emotionally young. The coaches seemed to deal with the situation pretty well in the shot. If I was there I would have flipped out and sent him to his room like a six year old.
Yea I really didn't like seeing him act that way. It seems like he's starting to get a bit of an attitude like he's above things.
