Might as well just use this thread to play out the string, since the rest of the season literally means shit, there's really no need to create a thread for each series.

Mets can't even win on a night where Johan opposes Nelson Figueroa. You can't make this shit up. Bahahahahaha.

Did Figueroa get the win? I hope so. I picked him up for some fantasy baseball streamin'.

I play in this one silly points-based league. The top two teams have already combined to make over 500 transactions on the season. I'll pass the 100 moves mark myself before Labor Day. To succeed in this particular league you need to use, on average, three starting pitchers each night.

On Monday morning, I saw Figueroa on the probables list for Tuesday and considered his opponent. Thus, I added him.

This is how bad it has gotten. I didn't watch a second of the Mets game and I'm most interested in knowing if the opposing pitcher beat them so to help one of my fantasy teams.

No. David Wright, of all people, hit a HR in the 8th to tie it up, where Hunter Pence, natch, almost immediately homered to get the lead back in the bottom of the inning. If I'm not mistaken, I was flipping back and forth to the "Office", I think Mark Melancon got the win. He gave up the HR to Wright, but I don't know if he finished the inning.

Turns out I did not use Figueroa. I had meant to check that team in the evening but never bothered. I had not committed to Figueroa earlier in the day because I was going to have to bench one of my relievers. Two of them did not pitch as it turned out.
Figueroa would have scored 13 points. My other two streamers were better. Jeanmar Gomez gave me 19.5 points and Dave Bush netted me 24.5 points.

    Why why why?????

This team is such a laughing stock it's not even funny. Laughing at them is like laughing at the retarded kid. Yes he's easy to make fun of but there's not really much effort that needs to be put into it.

Omar Minaya is starting to take on that Mike Milbury attitude--almost as if he realizes how much fans hate him, and that he's gonna eventually lose his job no matter what happens, so he goes out of his way to tell the fans "fuck you."

Caught the last two innings because there was nothing on...why does any pitcher throw a strike against this team?? Everybody in their lineup swings at any pitch in the dirt. They don't take any fucking pitches at all. How does HoJo have a job? Not that it matters at this point, but it's a joke. The lineup should collectively apologize to the starting rotation, as soon as possible. This guys on the mound get no fucking help at all from the "hitters."

I'm so happy I was able to get out of NY to Michigan just as they were collapsing.

Don't try to cover your ass now. We all know that they were 10 games over .500 and a game out of first when you came back to the US, and then collapsed immediately afterwards. Since correlation always implies causation, I would say that the implications of this are obvious. Or, as the Romans used to say, "Post hoc, ergo propter hoc" ("After this, therefore because of this").

The son of former Met Jose Valentin hit a home run for Puerto Rico in the Little League World Series.

    they really do suck.

they are by far the most unrootable team i am a fan of.

I'm trying to think of people i hate more than the Wilpons, and i really can't think of anybody. Horrible and cheap ownership(for a major NY sports team), horrible GM that thought we could win with Los Mets, horrible coach who looks and sounds like he forgot to take his nursing home meds half the time, and soft/injury prone players that should have been dumped or traded years ago after they mentally collapsed like weak minded pussies.

bunch of choke artist losers. any owner or GM with balls would have blew up with this pile of dung and been aggressive as fuck to change the chemistry and culture of this team.

the knicks blew up their turd of a roster, as much as it was painful it to watch..they now have a good amount of promise with a young roster and maybe melo on the way. The islanders actually have a franchise worthy center and scorer. The jets...have completely changed their culture.

wtf can't the mets organization do something to show they care?

I think this kind of comment is typically referred to as "Trolling".

To be fair, Los Mets were one awful at bat from going to the 2006 world series, which they probably would've won.

Take it from a fellow Knicks/Isles fan: The Knicks blew up their roster, but the suckiness will be back. We're one year away from replacing Donnie Walsh with Isiah Thomas again. Same with the Isles, in a sense. They've got a ton of prospects with potential, but Charles Wang is still a cheap, megalomaniac asshole. They're gonna be a circus for a while.

Shit, at least you've got the Jets (who'd have ever thought that those words would be written in all seriousness?)

Bro, that is retarded. Isiah is NOT coming back as GM despite the garbage people like Marc Berman spout. Dolan has a soft spot for isiah, and he's a good scout/evaluator for talent, but he wouldn't oust walsh after he pretty much 180'd the franchise from its irrelevance. The average age of our roster is like 23-24 years old with a lot of potential, 1 legit perennial all star and future cap flexibility. By all accounts, especially after some articles i read today (non NY media too), Melo is in a "knicks or bust" mindset. He'll pretty much let his contract expire and sign with us or the nuggets don't trade him this season to the knicks. He has all the power too because no team will trade for him unless he signs an extension.

Melo + Amare would be the best duo the knicks have had in 40 years. and Anthony randolph has all the tools to be a stud (assuming he doesn't get traded first)

I used to agree with you that the stuff about Isiah's return was overblown, but it really seems inevitable at this point. They publicly credited him with recruiting Amar'e, and it turned out they never even spoke. Walsh tried to hire Chris Mullin as a protege and Dolan blocked it, but then tried to bring Isiah back on the payroll even though it's illegal. They're already sending out signals to the media that he's gonna be key in luring Carmelo to New York.

Unless Dolan dies or sells the team, Isiah will be back in charge eventually. We can only hope that Walsh leaves us with a situation that's too good for these idiots to fuck up.

I'm sad to report that since leaving NYS the Mets have still been pretty terrible, I was hoping me leaving would be a positive thing.

Theres two options I can see here. 1: the fans all stop going to games in which the Wilpons will have no choice but to fire Manuel and Minaya. 2: The players start juicing up, which I am against.

So, the Mets today let Rod Barajas goto LAD for cash. The Red Sox offered Ramon Ramirez for him in July and were turned down.

What would you have preferred, Met fans?
    Cash considerations?
Or Ramon Ramirez? A man who has a 0.00 ERA in 8IP since joining the NL.
