I agree Ten, up until last night, I thought Gholston was an absolute BUST and waste of skin. I've had some incredible battles with some on this board over this issue. However, he looked pretty decent at his natural position last night and this being his 1st preseason game back at DE in the NFL, I think it merits a game or two before we write him off completely.
zero tackles------------the one preasure I saw he tripped over his own feet---time will tell but the guy is paid alot and needs to get on the stat sheet!
Ghost has almost no ability to change direction. It's really remarkable how inflexible he is in his hips.
I hope the worthless shit plays good enough this year that we can actually trade him to another team next year. As of right now we couldn't even get a 7th round pick for his ass.
1. He played DE last year during the regular season. 2. I swear I'm not busting your balls, you're just the last person who has posted a positive observation, so I'm asking you, though anyone who believes it can chime in: Aside from the almost sack where he tripped himself, what else did you see that impressed you (because Ihave every intention of watching the game in full again tonight, so I honestly want to know what I'm looking for).
Bah. What the hell does any of that matter?! What's important is that we have something to hate on. The day we dump Gholston, I'm saying right now, we'll need to sign Mike Nugent again. I don't sail well in calm waters.
"I gave it my all and think overall I did a good job. Remember guys, it's not a make or break season for me." - Veronica Gholston
Most of the people here seem to think that the only successful way to play DE is to be Julius Peppers or a healthy John Abraham every game. I thought he did alright in limited time, down the stretch he will get more time. They need to make cuts so they are going to look at other players for the first two games.
I say we give him three or four more seasons to develop and by then he doesn't produce we contact our friends at UFL. I'd pay $20 to boo him in Hartford.
I need to start use italics for sarcasm or something. Yes it was sarcasm. I say if he doesn't improve by the end of the pre season he gots to go.
With some of the posters around here it's hard to tell extreme retardation from sarcasm, but anyone wanting to give the Ghost 4 more seasons I had to give the benefit of the doubt. lol
Might as well call Gholston, Seattle Slew. This horse has been beaten more than a hairy broad in Waziristan.
I don't think you really want to compare VG to Seattle Slew - Seattle Slew was one of the greatest racehorses of al time - undefeated triple crown winner....just sayin.
