Woodhead is the same type of back fighting for the same roster spot and he should be winning. McKnight has shown nothing special in the running game so far, except for one run to the right in that game. Woodhead has great hands and is elusively quick. He may not be as fast in a striaght fourty, but he is quicker in his routes and cuts. Right now if one had to go I would say McKnight, but the Jets will not give away someone they spent a fourth round pick for. Is it too much to think the Jets keep four RBs and two FBs?
McKnight clearly doesnt have what it takes to play in the NFL, after his first preseaspn game ever we should cut him immediately without question. Makes sense in my book.
i agree that woodhead looks good this preseason again u cant say mcknight isnt worth having he hasnt even had a shot yet
i'm a dumbass too because i was surprised at how little pop mcknight seemed to have in his cuts. where did it go? i'm hoping he was just tentative and that it was nothing physical.
I second that, he looked like post week 12 Thomas Jones out there last night. Now I understand it's only a preseason game and they didn't really give him anything to get outside and use his elusiveness but let's hope last night wasn't a sign of things. That being said, let's not overreact to a few carries in preseason game 1 but I was hoping we'd get to see a little more of what he can offer. I'm not sure why everybody is so anti Woodhead, the kid plays hard and has never done anything to show he doesn't belong on the roster. He's done everything asked of him and he is quick and shifty and has great hands out of the backfield. He'll never be a star but he is far beyond Rudy and it's not even close.
