He hasn't officially arrived until he can simultaneously kick a 50 yarder and toss Hannity's salad. Until that time, all Folk will be is a mere mediocre shell of Jay Feely, who incidentally, can do that with his eyes closed. How did I miss this thread so much entertainment.
Im not gonna get on Feely for being a conservative, the dude was a good guy. The Jet fans need to get over it, hes gone and we gotta hope for the best with folk
I'm telling ya, Folk is a player. Back off Folk and get over Feely. Feely's gone so just accept it. I can assure you, you'll get your money's worth. Folk is mentallyvery strong and now that he is re-habed....watch out. You'll see the pro bowl talent. He went 6 for 6 today in practice.
The thing is that before Feely, our past few kickers have been below average (read inconsistent). Feeley was average so we viewed him as an upgrade as to what we had but Feely was ONLY average. This kid, if he has recovered from his injury and has his head on straight, is a MAJOR upgrade. If not, oh well. We could always find somebody on the waver wire (like we found Feely).
I've been impressed with Folk, but I need to see him make under pressure kicks in a real game to really feel comfortable with him as Feely's replacement.
he was 3 for 4 last night, making two 36 yarders, and a 20 something yarder, and just missing a 46 yarder. are you still pissed?
Folk is a work in progress I think as the off-season / preseason goes on, he will continue to work his craft and get better, he had some good kicks and had that one bad kick
I am still worried. There was no wind at all and he still came close to missing at least one of those 36 yarders. Maybe both, I don't remember. Everything was being pushed right. Hell, he couldn't kick indoors at Dallas. There is a need to worry.
