I was just curious.. Did one of our very own TGG invent " revis island" ? .. Im almost positive I heard it here first ..
how did we get pressure last year? well we had one guy who completely covered an entire side of the field almost never needing any help. cromartie is NOT NEARLY revis, dont fool yourself into thinking he is. he will need help on most plays. teh new kid is a ROOKIE, i dont care how good everyone wants him to be he is STILL a rookie. not having revis will leave us very susceptible when we blitz which i am sure rex will do no matter what.
Yes hopefully he will help as well as maybe tongue in cheek VG. The better the pressure/rush is the less U have to lean on the CBs to be super shut down as Revis was last season
How is my math wrong? So you really believe gate receipts are $56millions? For 10 home games? That averages about $5.6 millions a game. Divide that by, lets say, 70k and the average price per ticket comes to around $80. Seriously? You really belive that figure to be true? Gate receipts would probably be around $250 to $300 mil a year for football events ALONE. And there is no cost of goods in selling tickets. Like I said, Net income is not the same as gross income. Look again.
Look again where? Get some actual proof before making statements like that. It's not pure profit you know, more than half of the ticket money goes elsewhere like paying rent, employees and such. You can't count money you don't have.
Ticket prices will be higher in the new stadium, yes. However, those numbers are hardly inaccurate. On Forbes' site, it states an average of $87 per ticket. Given that most of the standard seats ranged from $75 - $115 in 2008, the numbers I'm sure they were using, I'm not sure why $87 per ticket was so out of line with your expectations. They also didn't count preseason games, which would have driven it up to $70 million if they cost the same (and I admit, I don't know if they do). This is without any tickets being given away, used in promotions, or sold at a discount. However, your $300 million number would presume an average ticket price of $375 if every seat in the facility were sold at standard price. Any discounts would drive that average number up considerably.
Wow 2 hours from the last post......I think he will be signed by Sunday night? Is that too optomistic?
I will tell you some fans are great negotiators....lol Oh yeah just pay him.......... The Jets should give Revis more than he wants so he couldn't possibly hold out again. Shit salary cap be damned................... "Hey Mr. Revis, you want 160MM? Shit we will give you 200MM, you are a great player and nice guy, with really nice agents".
you know what, I would give revis $200 mill, on an 18 year deal (avg. 11.1 mill/year) where there is no guaranteed money in the last 7 years, and a clause within the contract that states he can't hold out before year 14 of the deal, or he is required to repay all the bonus money he was paid throughout the life of the contract.
I'm guessing he'll sign right before they film the last episode of HN. No way he doesn't get at least some play on HN. His ego won't allow it.
