Those were contract vs. performance issues. That's why they are gone.

And the team predicted a decline from both. If we're going to set the Super Bowl as a realistic goal, a back who breaks down as the season goes on and is little help in the passing game isn't going to be as valuable as someone who truly complements Shonn Greene and provides an excellent pass catching ability. Of course, it sounds like KC has other plans in mind for TJ in the 'passing game'.

And didn't we hear Faneca was having some trouble out in the desert?

Maybe in faneca's case but not w/ Jones.

What about a back who broke down and played all season like TJ did late in the year?

if Jones ahs the edge over Charles for the #1 back that should tell us something as good as Charles was last year.

I've move on, I think LT will be fine but I'm disputing the notion about caring more about on field production than leadership, if that was the case Jones would be here.

I think there are too many factors to blame it all on LT. How was the Charger O-line vs. the Jets last year? LT may indeed be worse, I don't know, but I don't think we can say a whole lot about that until we see him in action.

Our Ol is better and I think he'll be more efficient this year in a backup role. I am fine w/ him coming in, the point is we didn't make the decision absed on production. We made it on the HOPE that he could regain some of his old form and have a bit of a renaissance year.

Charles had a good season. He also started little more than half the season and averaged fewer than 12 carries per game. That's right where he should be. He's a smaller back, ideally suited to be a mid-range carry COP back. Having someone like TJ to eat a few carries early will open up the game for Charles. However, the Jets felt it was best to go forward with Greene pounding those early carries. With the addition of LT, it seemed like a smart move to me. When they added McKnight in the draft after, it seemed even smarter. I truly believe the addition of TJ to the Chiefs was made because of his ability to hold some carries and stay healthy, not because they feel he'll add a highly productive dimension to their running game.

The man averaged almost 6 YPC, he's not that small where you wouldn't want to feed this guy 15-20 carries a game. He should be the guy getting most of the carries, if Jones is getting the bulk than that means he's looking pretty good.

Again, I wanted Jones back but I am and always have been fine w/ the LT move. I wasn't on board w/ the Leon trade and McKnight pick, I hope I am wrong about that one.

Again, I don't know that Jones will get the bulk of the carries. I'd tend to doubt it. The team averaged 27 carries per game. If you give 15 to Charles, 12 to Jones, 3-5 to Smith, I think you utilize your two main backs very effectively. I just imagine the CS feels it's in their best interest to let Jones get some early carries to wear the defense down a bit to aid Charles's effectiveness. 15 carries sounds about right for Charles if you want him to be effective throughout the whole season.

And like I've consistently said, I'm not going to criticize anyone for being upset about the Leon issue. Personally, I feel McKnight is an excellent fit for our zone blocking. He was a better pure RB at USC than Reggie Bush in that scheme, and I think he'll do well here. I've always been a fan of Leon, though, and definitely don't like the two polar opposite sides of extreme eulogy and extreme censure that he seems to draw these days. I'm in the middle. I'll certainly miss him, but I feel we're better off given the way he was underused and the potential of McKnight.

There are 82 other "Thomas Jones should still be a Jet and not LaDanian Tomlinson!" threads on the board. This one is about Twitter posts not running backs.

What are the numbers on the repriced ones? That wouldn't include all the club seats that stayed at the same price.

Alio's response was making fun of Revis' response to Wild for Woody's tweet.
