I'm not WOW'd by a band playing to open a game. I'd rather be drinking in the parking lot right up until kickoff.

Although I was there when Destiny's Child played before a game and no-one knew who the fuck they were...none the less, I'm not impressed.

I'm sure it adds VALUE to the season tix. Just think, a portion of the PSL pays for the band to play a song.

I can't stand Green Day, but sounds like the Jets are going for broke in the opener. I like that.

 

Awesome! Great choice, Green Day brings more energy then Rex taking a shit. I saw them at G_ANTS Stadium a few years ago, packed house, never will forget that concert.

I must be getting old, but this drives me crazy. It's not like we won the superbowl or anything. Fireworks show at halftime??? Why not wait and see if we win the game or not. Are they going to have to prolong halftime for this crap as well? The pre-game, tailgate Slash show is pretty cool I guess, give people something to do while checking out the new digs. But come on, a full blown halftime celebration??? Unjustified if you ask me, and God forbid we are down by a couple of TDs. I guess the days of going to the stadium to watch football are over. I'll be longing for the days of the halftime spiral shows for sure.

I think it's all about the new stadium and MNF. I don't think it has anything to do with the team, if the Giants were playing it would be the same. It's to showcase the new field. Only some local market fans will have seen it before that.

 

if anyone was hosting this game it would be the same thing.
the thursday night game and the monday night are a big deal to the NFL.

1st MNF game of the year, and 1st in a new $$ stadium........ I tend to think this is more the NFL hype machine than the JETS, although I'm sure Woody & co. want it to be more of an event than a game in regards to generating PSL interest from casual (corporate) fans

 

Scherzinger = worth the price of admission

 

I just saw them Wednesday. They still put on a great show, but the best part of the show was definitely the middle. (when they played their old songs)
