I haven't seen enough of either Long or Thomas to know, but are their reputations a true reflection of their performances?

yes, that's why they made pro bowls as rookies and are outright better than Brick.

Brick isn't far behind these guys.

Baldinger has done a lot of reporting on the Jest in recent seasons and he's always been positive and upbeat without a bad word. Don't know if he's a fan may be just open and positive.

Good article puck (I can't say the M word) and it didn't even mention the great battle at fullback. I can't wait to see The Terminator pound people during the season.

I don't claim to know a lot about other OT's in the league but I disagree with the idea that because they were better as rookies they're better LT's. Let's not forget D'Brick was a bit of a project guy when he was taken. He's completely filled out that huge frame and clearly become a much better player. I'm sure they've gotten better too.

I'm not saying D'Brick is the best, but it's probably not as crazy of an idea as some people think.

Very good article. Wow. How can you NOT love Rex? I hope he is our coach for a long, long time.

I would say Brick pass blocks just as well as these guys, but Long and Thomas can run block better due to their frame and technique. You can run left due to those guys. The Jets tend to always run right. That isn't the end all be all, but that may be one of the tipping points to the better Tackles like Long and Thomas.

Sadly the pro bowl is bullshit, but when it comes to the OL its usually the coaches and players getting these guys in. Brick was 3rd last year, I can see him staying there this year.

I have a Ferguson jersey, I've always liked him...not trying to bring him down and I don't want to get into a pissing match about who's the best and everything because I know that's not the point of the article...

...But I will say this and leave it alone. I think what encompasses the BEST left tackle is: Stellar run blocking and pass protection, intuition (i.e. the ability to sense where your fellow lineman are and also where the defenders are without actually seeing them) and also the ability to solo any defender.

Can you say that about Ferguson?

That would be great to have him here for that long. This organization needs some continuity, and Rex seems like the right guy. He has already changed the culture and brought the 1969 attitude along with it. Since I've been a Jets fan (1990), I have only been this optimistic about the franchise once (1998-99).

Well, one thing is for sure, Balddy will never be invited on Fatcesa's show. I wonder how Phil Simms will handle Mike when he bashes the Jets or maybe the fat man will play it straight when he is on
