I would love nothing more than if we could sign Revis right now. However, He has been offered a contract, and it has been turned down. I also have no idea what has been discussed, like everyone one here. I do not fault Revis, and I do not fault the FO. They both have themselves to look out for. The difference is that the FO has 52 other guys to look out for, a coaching staff, employees, and a fan base. right now, Revis is causing a distraction to the team. (by the way, he should make out better than $1mill this year) In my book, an elite player is a leader off the field as well as on. He needs to make a reasonable offer to the FO, and I believe they will jump all over it. The FO has to look out for it's franchise, and has undoutably already had trade discussion amunst themselves. (Tanny's no stone unturned philosophy) My opinion, is make a final offer. If it is shot down, trade Revis (the best corner in the game) End this distraction.
^^I have to ask, are you making some statement about TommyGreen, or did you unintentionally choose the same pic of the same chick for your avatar?
lol no Tommy's cool, I just think that girl is ugly and reminds me of the alien from Alien. Jessica Alba, Marissa Miller, more my style
10 minutes to hard knocks and all I have to say is FUCK YOU revis. Just play ball man. Come on. When we win a SB without you and you have dick to show for it, you will be sad. Cut the at this point greedy bullshit and get your late to camp ass on the field. Fucker. ......
The Jets are going to miss him, no doubt. He doesn't have toughness issues like Cro nor does he lack experience like KW. Revis is similar to one of those fire and forget weapons the US Armed Forces use. Just put Revis on the #1 and that guy is done, period end of story. You can't replace that easily. You can scheme and play match up to try. Rex has a great track record and he may make it work to some extent. That said it is going to be quite the coaching feat to do it. Absolutely, many fans have turned on Revis already. They have every right to as a fan. I can't say I blame them, to a degree. That still doesn't mean his talent is any less. If Jason Taylor can get Jets fans to root for him, if/when Revis comes back, he will be fine. After his first int, the crowd will love him again. I too am very disappointed in the downplaying of his skills. It really serves no purpose.
You do not trade Revis for 2 reasons. First, if you trade Revis and he gets his mega contract then you've sent a message to everyone else that holding out works and you'll get your money from someone though maybe not the jets. Second, if you trade him you might have to play against him and, once he's gone you don't know where he'll end up. Let him sit out the next three years if he wants. Costs the jets nothing and then you can still franchise him (under new CBA if new CBA so provides) if necessary and he can continue to sit out if he wants. You have to set the precedent that you will not accommodate a spoiled child and give them what they want.
Screw the Roscoe Diner, they need to have a sit down with Revis's agents at the Ryan cafe. If Rex out eats the 2 of them, Revis must sign.
Two ways this ends great: 1) Mevi$ is signed by the end of the week for $12M a year deal. 2) My favorite, he sits out the whole year and we win the SB. We trade the shit and he never gets a ring. Marino once siad he would give up the money for a ring and many other greats would agree.
