Of course. Scrabble's contract is an outlier, an anomaly created by the almost dead Crypt Keeper that shits his pants.

It is like the Bell, California's city manager. He got paid 800k. Does that mean every city manager should get that? What if New York's city manager balanced the budget, fucked 30 hookers while balancing a pool cue on his ass... does that mean he should get paid 1 mill?.......

The Jets couldn't and shouldn't have to just pay him. It is a shame because in the beginning the Jets tried to do the right thing.....

I just wish Revis had more reasonable agents. Holdout is their weapon of mass destruction. Unlike Sadaam they use it at will.

At a very minimum this article should be faxed, emailed, sms'd, snail mailed, sky written, etch-a-sketched, and smoke signaled in the direction of his agents.

Fuck Revis. Yes, he is the best corner in football TODAY but fuck him.

Let's move on. Let the bitch get fat while we win a superbowl.

Mevi$ is defenetly a system player. The only thing is that the system he fits into requires him to be the most dominant lockdown corner in the game.

I can't believe everybody is shocked by the "revelation" in the Myers article that the Jets were offering more than a fair deal and that Revis simply wants more than Asomugha. That has been obvious for months. Revis stated at a press conference before minicamp that he wanted to be paid 50 cents more than Asomugha. It is clear that while he hasn't budged, the Jets have tried everything from the overly generous long term $120 million deal to a one year band aid and everything in between.

The Jets have paid their players well and fairly under Tannenbaum and have had very few contract disputes. In fact, there have only been 5 that I can remember - and four of them (Revis twice, Kendall, and Baker) have Schwartz as the agent. The other was the Washington deal last year and the Jets did the right thing in not offering starting RB money to an aging part-time player.

Where are the Revis apoligists now? Today, Revis was shown to be what he truly is - a selfish, greedly me-first person. But it has been clear for a long time that Revis was only going to play if he was paid more than Asomugha's $16 million per year contract. The Jets are right to hold their ground and wait this out. If Revis sits out this year and there is a lock out next year, Revis becomes Michael Vick redux - a player who has not been on the field for over two years. Good luck with that Mevi$$$$$$$.

Yeah, I don't get the on-field hate. I can understand people criticizing his current stance, although I only think it's rational to hate his demands, but why are people suddenly so eager to get rid of him and dismiss his talent?

Yeah, like I said at the beginning:

I figured he'd get strung up for the money issue and he'd have to go over the top to win back some idiot fans. I'm just disappointed in the "well, maybe he's not as good as we say" angle. Of course we can still win without him, but it becomes MUCH more difficult.
