If you let Revis seek a trade he's gone...you don't let a player seek a trade just for the sake of doing it

No. the FO should allow Revis to sit on his ass, make no money and STILL owe them 1 year at 1 mil, and destroy his agents.

At the end of the day, we can all speculate and choose sides and point fingers but the reality is no one on this board and most importantly everyone in the media does not know shit. We all know what either camp wants us to know which may or may not be the truth.

Which is exactly why we're all speculating on what could happen. But that's all it is. I don't believe a word out of either sides mouth. I expect this end one way or the other real soon, and it'll be real sudden.

Yeah, New Orleans gave a 1 and a 3 to Dallas for Walsh. Dallas used the 3 (70th overall) to draft Erik Williams. Dallas was then involved in a trade with New England and they took Russell Maryland. The Saints 1 was used somehow to make that deal. Harper went 12th overall. I don't think the Harper pick technically can be attributed to the Walsh trade. Then again, I may be mistaken a little bit. It can get a little confusing when picks are traded mltiple times.

Really? I didn't know that. I thought everyone was posting with the idea that they knew everything 100% and not simply discussing the topic on the basis of the information provided which may very well be speculation?

BTW...MB...Did Rex not say exactly the same thing ?

Rex basically said EXACTLY what I said...here, and on other threads.

The system > than the Player.

(and he used Ed Reed as an example)

Maybe you and Mr E would like to dispute Rex on that.

Are we really going to sit through this again?

The funniest part of that whole thing was that it was really a misunderstanding that launched it.

If the Raiders had signed Aso to a longer contract, it sure as hell wouldnt have been at 15 mill a year..right? They gave him the 15 because it was just a 3 year deal IMO. I mean he wants Aso money for 10 years straight? Jesus fing christ this is damned ridiculous how dont the agents know that Al Davis is insane, i thought up untill now that all that Aso talk was just a negotiating tool but to see that they actually put it on paper ...is just damned crazy.

Sorry Ive been holding that in for 146 pages.

Only if Revis is not as stoopid as his agents.

Revis has zero leverage in this equation. He can't go anywhere, he's a looong way away from FA...

    His Choices, right now is...

    A:Accept the Jets largesse.
B:play for 1 million this year, then play for 5 2011/15 2012 on contingency or Get Franchised (he lost the Guarantee language for the final two years, I'm not sure if the buy backs exist)
    C:Retire.
D:Hope that Woody/Tanny are not so irked at his agents that they allow a face saver
(Rex's comments seem to indicate that's not happening)

For Yahoo's NCAA tournament pick 'em I joined the Vermont Catamounts group. My pick set name was Green Mountain Maniac. I'm all about Vermont!

This thread is ridiculous, I check into it then go away for a couple hours and come back, and am 20 pages behind. Most of the posts are long too.

This is my thinking and the added bonus is if some team does contact his agents or him seeking a trade (which is bound to happen because he is too good for it not to) you actually could get picks without ever trading him.

30 days of Training camp is roughly Half of his Million Dollar salary.

So..They could force him to play for little more than the Veteran minimum.

And if he decides to sit out the year and not report again next year...he could be playing for free.

The F.O. needs to be willing to eat the pick for the three years of service, and communicate that.

Hah, non-Revis related, but it looks like Cimini meant to text someone and ended up Tweeting it:

I wonder who B is? Brandon Moore? Braylon Edwards? Brad Smith?

Edit: And he just deleted it.

Don't want picks until there is a rookie slotting system. If he goes we want players that are hopefully finishing out cheap rookie contracts.
