I remember a shitload of fans once thought Lowery could be a #2... even he's come to terms with it now that he's nickel at best.

Heh, I always thought he was better suited as a safety, that said Lowery is still better than most teams #2 CB.

For what its worth Lowery has had some excellent games at #2 but at the same time he has also gotten smoked as a #2 as well. He has shown flashes of being a good corner. Im actually excited to see what he can do at safety.

For having to play opposite of Revis, Lowery was a good #2.

The games he got smoked, is where good QBs knew to take advantage of him, over Revis. Namely, Peyton Manning

I thought he could be a no. 2, but he has a nasty habit of over-committing. If he ever calmed himself down and stopped biting on hard route moves, I think he has the talent to play no. 2.

But it's irrelevant now. Wilson has looked good in TC and might just be able to help fill the Revis void. Thank Darwin Tanny got Cromartie this offseason...

I know one of the praises Rex bestowed upon Revis was his great hip control, he's saying the same things about Kyle.

That is a huge part of CB play, being able to twist and turn on a dime to knock or take the ball down.

That was one area where Wilson out-performed Haden at the Combine.

Rex was showering praise on Kyle today during the press conference.

Said he was the guy he was most impressed with.

I wonder if any of this is posturing?

I think our secondarys concerns lie more with Cromartie then with Wilson though because he's the one thats going to have to come back to true form and be that 1 on 1 shutdown guy again if Darrelle does hold out this season

Sure, Lowery has good ball skills and smarts but ultimately lacks the speed to be a #2 in the NFL. He's a 'Tampa 2' CB.... I think he'd make a great safety, and am content with him at nickel.

    * Who cares what Davis paid his CB, Sanchez their # 1 pick, starting QB who delivered a national championship at USC and brought the Jets to AFC championship game last year makes 11 million a year, there is no way Revis is more important to the team or deserves more than Sanchez. Let him sit, the Jets have to be strong or every player who plays good will be pulling this crap.
