He's not going to show his cards on live television, I think that was a smoke screen, there were things he couldn't say on camera so I guess he had to "revise" his answer
Woody was being very vague on things promised to Revis and who spoke to Revis about what, and said "Thats the beautiful thing about contracts, verbal agreements have no meaning"
He acted like he didnt know what was going on. He kept saying "Not to my knowledge". I came out of it that they did confront Revis after the colt game but he said it was regarding an "extension". Idk if I believe him though, just the way he said it. Then he was talking about how verbal agreements dont mean anything to him.
What did you all expect Woody to say? He's holding his ground, which is what I expected him to do. He's telling Revis' camp that they don't give a shit if they sit out, we're going to move on. You're under contract, and that's it. We'll give you an extension, but it'll be under our terms. It was perfect.
My feelings exactly not that im biased, it was his body language, i dont know if any of you play poker but there were tells all over that part of the interview.
Exactly like on the Michael Kay, talking out the side of his mouth....He saiys the Nandi deal has nothing to do w/the Revis deal.. Well Woody, Wake the fuk up! to Revis it has alot to do with it! All this boils down to is exactly what I have been saying. WOODY DOESN'T CARE. IT'S ALL A BUSINESS TO HIM 1st. That's been my stance and I am sticking to it. What difference does it make if Woody is saying I am not going to pay then turns around and says I was going to meet him (but not give him the money)? Woody is playing the Media game right now and doing a bad job because some of us can see right through his bullshit. Revis wants: -To be a JETS player for Life -Be paid the highest at his position because he is the best at it.
Er... NO I don't wish....I think most everyone here wants Revis to play, but I took it as woody was saying"look, you signed a contract, you're gonna have to honor it.... I'm not a troll, I'M A JETS FAN, I WANT REVIS TO PLAY, if it doesn't happen we go on without him....:shit:
That's what a owner should do. Rely on his football minds and he pays the bills. We don't want Al Davis. You are really overanalyzing this. Hrs the owner, not GM, HC, or even a ball boy.
Ya excatly his mannerisms. He just didnt feel confident on what he was saying, he was trying to convince himself almost.
So you think it's over now? All is settled and we won't hear another word? What are you smoking? That's what I was talking about.
Why the hell is he doing a world interview tour the night of his star corner's holdout deadline at all? He's clueless here. This is a continuation of the Revis Situation Clusterfuck. Shut up and go for a bike ride, Woody.
Now Mike T is saying that Woody had said "he was available" if they wanted to meet. None of that BS about him going there or anything...of that nature. He is now bloating the answer to the Question about Revis getting NO OFFERS that include a guarantee Bonus. Saying that there is a way contracts are done and that they have a way they do it, they want a deal that makes him (Revis) happy and the JETS happy.. Again, Nixing a trade also.
Why not? Let the other teams and fans know that it's not the Jets organization's fault. Revis loses more and more leverage by the day, and he's going to lose potential endorsements/market value as well if he's painted as a selfish player that doesn't honor contracts.
