lol its become quite the joke now. both sides of the extreme.

the funniest is the pay the man screams!

poor revis if he gets hurt playing football he only has 15 million up to this point.

then they bang on the table for woody to stop being cheap and pay Revis a 30 million signing bonus when we have no idea if there is football next year.

    this isnt madden folks.

theres a difference between outperforming your deal and taking advantage of your career at its peak.

and just taking a team hostage.

he thinks hes doing that but too bad. I'm glad the Jets havent caved into his demands yet.

i want him taken care of but not at the expense of finding 52 more capable players and keeping talent like Mangold and Harris, Braylon or Holmes.

like ive said when the dust settles we will here what has really been offered and what has been really rejected.

until then I'll just hope Alcrotraz regains form under Rex and Wilson starts learning the ropes fast.

So when it gets to the part of the contract where its "a little bit less" he can hold out again? Isnt that how we got in this mess in the first place?

Ugh... people really don't understand the difference between getting a paycheck and structuring a contract do they?

Look at what Peppers got $91.5 million with $42 million guaranteed. A guy who doesnt give it his all every year. DE's get paid ridiculous type of money, and elite cornerbacks should too. This is a passing league Revis getting rid of Andre Johnson every game is worth every single penny.

We also can structure a contract so Revis doesnt take up 10% of our cap.

Plus Kris Jenkins will be gone next year which frees up around 5 million I believe.

    They could do this.

    no.

I've read as much as I could on this and I still know I don't know anything about what's going on behind the scenes. I just want this all to go away.

Peppers was an UFA......totally different situation.

if Revis went to the open market.....some team would blow their load on him.

Yeah, people bitch about him being cheap. WTF? When? If he pays Revis $16 mil a year, people would call him unreasonable. If he doesn't pay $16 mil, he becomes cheap. Give him a break. He's a business man and to be a successful business, you know you can't cheap when investing.

BTW guys, I had a dream last night that Revis got $40mil guaranteed money. I just can't remember how long or how much the contract was.

Point is guaranteed money shouldnt be such of a problem. He is a cornerback, and is very unlikely to get injured, so giving him $$ wouldnt be so risky.

you can't forecast injuries, my friend.

And with the CBA being in limbo....doling out huge guaranteed money is a little more complicated than it seems to be.

The Bears had the cap space to absorb a big hit for Peppers......the Jets have other pending FA core players that need to be taken into consideration.

    Like i said...these are 2 different situations.

age does. there is an increase of a chance with age.

for example pulling hammys like lito.

and didnt sergio kindle have some sort of 'necrosleepytime' condition?

Yeah you know, my problem with Revis is that he wants more than Nnandi, who thanks to the Raiders is getting paid like 20% more than any CB in the league.

Revis should concede that Nnandi's contract was an aberration and accept the offer where he'd be the 2nd highest paid CB in the league... but NOOOOO, he wants to make some stupid statement...

To me if a player doesn't love football enough to where he's willing to actually not play for entire year, then I don't know, that's pretty lame.

it's true that with age...your body begins to decline....but it doesn't mean you're prone to more injuries. If these athletes take care of themselves....the injuries will be few and far between....even as they progress into the twilight of their careers. Good example of this: TRich

I've had it set in my mind that he wasn't playing pretty much since his first day of holding out.

Otherwise I'd be in baby punching mode right now. I hope to god a fair deal for both sides does get worked out, but it's nice.

I hope I don't hear that sentence for a long time either.
