So, I am in an argument with my roommate who is a die hard eagles, I said our wr corps is top 5, he said no way, I listed my top 5

    1. Cowboys- miles austin is a stud, roy williams can still play, jason witten is best or 2nd best te in the league, if dez bryant can contribute they will be scary good

    2. Pats- I know i'll get shit for this but moss and welker are still a deadly combo if wes is healthy, having brady throwing the ball makes their wr better too

    3. Packers- Driver, Jennings, Greg jones and Jordy Nelson, very talented with a premiere qb

    4. NY Jets- yes i know holmes is missing 4 games and BE drops passes, but these are 3 talented players with more potential to be the best corps then any other team other then dallas, add keller and LC as insurance and the Jets wr corps is elite

    5. Eagles- jackson already is a stud and maclin looks to be on the way, avant is solid in the slot and their te brent "tom" celek is a very good pass catchin wr, add andy reid's innovative play calling and they too are elite

honorable mention: saints, bengals, ravens, and colts

please feel free top post your top 5 or critique mine!

I would put the colts on the top 5 over the eagles. Wayne, Healthy Gonzalez, Garcon and Collie. They also have Dallas Clark

Definitely. Wayne is a beast and as we saw in the playoffs Garcon and Collie can really stretch the field.

I think Cotch will have a good year with the two big guys as well. He was always a slot/3rd receiver playing on first and second string corners. This year he'll make some huge mismatches.

Also, I think dallas @1 is a joke. Roy williams hasn't done much of anything lately other than drop passes. Dez [strike]Oden[/strike] Bryant is a rookie, and rookie wideouts rarely produce at elite levels. I like miles, but he's been on the team for a few years and had one good year. Let's let him simmer.

    Edit: gah, no strike tags.

I think you gotta put the Bengals in the top 5 at least. Ochocinco, T.O, Antonio Bryant, Gresham, Shipley, Dez Briscoe, Matt Jones. That is a deep receiving core with a lot of talent.

Brady throwing the Pats receivers the ball should not weigh into the decision. This is WRs only not offenses.

If you include in the QB it would kind of ruin the point.

    NY Jets
    Indy
    SD
    Philly
    Dallas
    Green Bay
    Minnesota
    New Orleans

Those eight teams are a cut above the rest, right now I'd rank them Jets, Minnesota, Green Bay, Philadelphia, Indianapolis.

Dallas has tons of potential but they are definitely not #1. Witten is great but Dez is a rookie and injured atm, Austen has had just one (very) good year, and Roy Williams has been in the league 7 years and still has everything to prove.

The Saints deserve way more credit than they're getting in this thread. They may not have a superstar in that receiving corps, but they've got a ton of weapons.

    this is your first mistake.

Eagles fans are never informed about the rest of the league and think they are going to win it all every year.

I spent a year in that area, they all suck and deserve nothing.

    That being said,

No other team has 3 receivers capable of 80+ receptions like the Jets do, with a talented TE that could haul in 60 balls as well. Of course Sanchez would have to complete over 300 passes to make that possible, not including the checkdowns to RBs, etc.

No other team has that capability. Dallas is not #1, Green Bay is close to the Jets as is Minnesota, but they don't sit even with the Jets. Cincy isn't there yet considering their TE is unproven.

SD and Indy have two guys capable. New England has two.

Eagles fans are fucking retarded and should be made fun of for being gay.

I have the Jets at #7 but agree about the potential upside that we have. No more than potential at the moment though.

What does Brady have to do with the quality of the WRs?

With Welker hurt, Pats should drop a bit. Maybe 4-7 range for them.

Saints and Colts have to be top 5.
