I really think you should lock this thread until Revis signs.

That's the best idea you have ever had.

Then again, watching him explode into a cloud of ignorance is just hilarious.

    The Darrelle Revis Holdout Thread

So much freaking popcorn in this thread. When I popped open my phone and saw 75 new posts, I figured he was signed. The argument over a misunderstanding is pretty amusing, though.

Pages moved so fast that a few people may have missed this.

It's not saying anything we don't already know, but it's pretty safe to say that both sides are NOT going to come to an agreement before tomorrow. Hell, reviewing an offer made on a house takes longer than a weekend.

Why on earth would we lock the thread about the biggest piece of Jets news going on right now? Their is no need to lock it, just try to keep it cool.

If you can't keep it cool we will start enforcing the rules.

Yeah. You're arguing with a guy that said, give him 80 mil, on top of his current deal.

A 25 mil SB plus his current money pays him more than Aso over 3, and keeps him a Jet for 9 years.

The ignorance was the response to my post to Koz about a hypothetical Poison Pill deal, saying...it's not the end of the world.

But then again, you aren't quote bright enough to get context are you?

It appears that this subject is becoming like the political threads..

MB, TommyGreen, MrE. all think we should allow the franchise to be held hostage by a guy whose closest advisors are Ty Law and Sean Gilbert.

And if anyone dares to disagree, well...facts be a damned you don't know what you are talking about.

Darrelle Revis, a CB..is now adpopting a public position that has been passed up by both Tom Brady, and Peyton Manning.

(Manning drafted in 1998, signed his extension in MARCH of 2004..he didn't hold out, sign a deal, then hold out again in the middle of it. And Brady took a deal he called Fair....for the sake of his Team...which they f*d him one later..but I digress.)

Yes. Go look in the mirror.

You are trying to argue with someone that has said REPEATEDLY...pay him 80 mil on top of his current deal.

MAYBE...just MAYBE....if you looked at the context of my reply to KOZ, you'd realize you don't know wtf you're talking about

It's like a perpetual idiot machine! Someone's going to have to rewrite the laws of thermo-dynamics.
Except he only has one year left because there has not been a buy-back. That's why the Aug 10 deadline actually gets talked about...well, was talked about.
In the long run? No. As for this Jets team, massive talent set-back for a system that relies on talent at the CB level. This would be like taking Strahan off of the Giants' SB team.
    :rofl::rofl::rofl:

    Isn't that your posting mantra?
    hm...
The irony tree has been especially ripe this season.
    1. He's holding out at the end of it because the Jets have not bought back the contract. The only people assuming 3 years are remaining on the deal are the fans.
    2. Brady was threatening a holdout earlier in the season. The Patriots being more willing to pay their best player this offseason doesn't make Brady a better teammate than Revis.

I would like you to kindly point out the post where i said any of that.

I said Revis was important to the defense, Jenkins is certainly replaceable and not as important as Revis is to this defense, and that Revis deserves to be paid but not at the price of mortgaging the team's future.

so stop putting words in my mouth.

...and you said Darrelle Revis isn't a top five player on this team.

I never once said that the Jets should drop their pants and bow to Revis' demands. If anything, my posts in this thread has been consistent in pointing out how little Revis' leverage is in this negotiation.

What I did say was that Revis is still an important player on this team, and the most important player in our defense. I want him back on this team as much as anyone.

    My previous posts?

Why don't you just admit that reading english for context is more than you're capable of.

My post to Koz had nothing to do with actively ridding the Jets of Revis.
