It's obvious that fully guaranteed money is the sticking point in the negotiations. Since Aso got $28 million in guaranteed money, and Revis believes he deserves more than Aso, it's reasonable to assume that Revis wants more than that.

If the Revis deal doesn't get done then wouldn't it make sense for the FO in reopen contract talks with either of these guys? I'd rather them get locked up rather since the Revis deal has gone to shit.

Aso's deal was only for 3 years though. If Revis wants a 6 year deal or whatever, he will want a lot more guaranteed.

    Hi I'm new here,
I just wanted to say i saw a article earlier that says that champ bailey would have had a cap hit of 15.38 million this year so aso's contract might not really be that ridiculous. its on profootballtalk's front page

Unless and until there is a new CBA that goes back to the old rules, no NFL player can be an UFA unless he has 6 years of service. Both Mangold and Harris will be RFAs next year if their contracts are expiring after this season.

If a CBA is signed, the Jets will know the rules and sign Mangold, Harris and Revis (if he is reasonable) to long term deals very quickly

We are NOT at the mercy of the new CBA.

Woody is one of 32 owners that will be voting on the CBA.

Woody will simply give 'thumbs down' to any language that hurts Tanny's moves with Mangold & Harris & Revis (FA, RFA, Franchise, Salary, etc).
