I'm a little late getting this out, since I did the Offensive players a few weeks ago. Many players are interchangable along the D-Line and 3-4. Nice job, man. If all of the top underclassmen come out, 2011 will have one of the strongest first rounds in a long, long time. It's not as deep as 2010's class, but it's still full of a talent. I'm ready to see how Culliver will do at corner. He's a hell of a return man and he hits like a truck - I just hope he has the discipline to play corner, because he was a big time gambler at safety.

I assume you mean Josh Bynes? Of what I've seen of him, which is a lot due to my location, he seems to be slow in reaction time in pursuit/pass coverage. He also has had problems with tackling in the past, using poor fundamentals to take down the ball carrier. He was used well against Alabama though, they put him in different spots which allowed him to got uncovered all game, stuffing Mark Ingram constantly.
I've seen a good bit of Moch over the last few years - he has to be the most athletic defensive end in the country. After he ran that ridiculous 40 time at the beginning of the summer, I did a review of him in the "One Prospect at a Time" thread.
Quoted for maximum truth. I love some of the defenders in this class, Robert Quinn is going to be an absolute monster this season. He makes the best tackles in the country (cough cough Costanzo) look like sad, defenseless children. The corners are very deep too, both Brown and Burney from Carolina can really play, and probably have little chance of passing Peterson/Williams/Amukara in the rankings.
Robert Quinn just plays like he has nothing to lose, because he's stared death in the face. I love that he's overcome so much to become such a dominant player. He's one of the hardest working defensive linemen that I've ever seen - wish I could say the same about his high school teammate Carlos Dunlap.
Sheppard is a hellva player, I just have a dislike of many LSU players....right or wrong, JMO. I generally like LSU's O-line after that I'm a little skeptical.
Yep!!! Typo on my part. Bynes seems like a solid player on a weak defensive team. Let's take it with a grain of salt...he's not even close to be in my top 50.
Yes. They went to Fort Dorchester High School - must've been a nasty defensive line. I think they both returned kicks too.
Thanks! Off Topic....I get down to the Charleston area every couple of years. My Wife's cousin owns a condo at Wild Dunes in the Isle of Palms, just north of Charleston. Nice area, I'd love to live down there when I retire many years from now.
That's crazy, WW. My mom is actually looking into buying a house on Isle of Palms. It's really nice - just a hurricane magnet.
No doubt...house are right on the beach yards from the ocean. Wild Dunes is on the North end of the Isle of Palms...homes and condos owners rent out for income. Really awesome Golf course and beautiful beaches. Also a nice upscale Hotel in a gated community. Beautiful area....30 minutes north of downtown Charleston.
What kind of D-Line talent that Rex Ryan likes (crazy Bart Scott type of player) should we keep an eye on for us to pick? I'm assuming we'll be picking at the later side of round 1, around 26-32.
Haloti Ngata is actually a quiet, reserved guy off the field (he's a raging psychopath on Sundays) - I think Rex just goes after guys that will fit into his system. I think we're going to take a pass rusher, a safety, or a nose tackle.
So you guys see Romeus strictly as a 4-3 player huh? I admit I dont watch a lot of college football but what I saw of this guy he was all over the place. Any chance he fits our system?
I think Marcel Dareus can play in any scheme - he's a beast. He'll just be gone in the top ten, so I'm not getting my hopes up.
