favre's last pass of the last 3 seasons where all interceptions. Pacing back and forth as he decides retirement, Favre accidentally completes Redskins conditioning test
per Jay Glazer's twitter I feel no sympathy for the Vikes.....they had Clausen fall in their laps....and passed. Enjoy your aids, Minnesota.
^Oh good, now when Minnesota gives Favre $20 million to play this season his ankle is gonna start feeling better
He didn't throw a pick on his last pass with the Jets, but if I remember you guys were doing the lateral thing all over the place and Yeremiah Bell crushed him
I'm not syaing he will have a 2009 type season but he's not going to have a 2008 type season either. He's going to be good w/ any QB, he just might not be great w/ any QB. His last pass for us was not an INT, his 2nd to last past for us was an INT.
ESPN's Favre-a-thon is gonna look so funny at the end of training camp, when Favre decides that he wants to play after all. You'd think that by this point they would've learned not to run the story until there's aboslutely 0% chance that he'll change his mind.
I'm kinda mad ... on my one day off, instead of listening to sports or watching nfl network, i get to listen to favre-o-rama although I do feel slightly better about week 2 AT minny
Why wouldn't they run it? The more drama and mystery surrounding Favre the more people tune into their annual Favre retirement watch bullshit. They are just juicing up the story.
The Vikings won't contend without Favre, this is discouraging news for them and their fans. I was really looking forward to Week 5 to see Brett vs our defense.
yeah this would almost like Ricky retiring like a week before camp back in the day, except you had to expect this from Favre. It sucks that the Vikings didn't address the QB position at all during the offseason. I guess Jackson / Rosenfels better be ready. This HAS to deflate the team somewhat, but to expect Favre to put up the year he did last year again would not be reasonable in my opinion
It's another classic case of Favre handcuffing a franchise. He waited this long to make the decision and now they have very few options for replacing him. Rosenfels vs Jackson isn't exactly enticing... I see this hurting APs performance too.
This is probably the part where Brad Childress puts on a pair of knee pads to try and get Farve to put on his.
I don't think it will. Here's Peterson's stats from 2008 and 2007...before Favre arrived: ^ fuck...that's too tough to read...my apologies....see below for link. Peterson's 2007/2008 stats
That's valid reasoning to think otherwise but one would assume with a less potent pass attack the D will stack the box and lean towards the run. I hope you're right though, lotsa money on the line in the FF pool
Favre will decide that he is coming back sometime in the next 5 weeks. Anyone who believes he is actually retired hasn't been paying attention the last few years. I will only believe that Brett Favre is retired when either: A. He dies or B. All 32 NFL team say they don't want his services
