last year we ordered the ticket and it was our first season with an HD TV. The games not being shown locally cost 60 bucks extra I think to get them all in HD for the entire season. We called and complain and last year they gave us the rest of the season (from Week 3 on) free HD. sweet
I know! you figure for as much as they charge it should automatically come that way. I couldn't even tell you how much the ticket is anymore, we have got it the past 5 years and you have to actually call them to cancel, otherwise you automatically get the bill for it. Needless to say, we don't want to cancel! haha but i think it's crazy. I can almost imagine a day they will put the Super Bowl on pay-per-view
i think their must be a numbers game between diff companies. they must hate losing a customer to a competitor. plus their advertising revenue is based on 'viewership', so they will bend over to keep ya.
You can only get Sunday Ticket through DIRECTV. He's gotta have a D-TV receiver, right? He could certainly have cable or Dish Network hooked up to other TVs. I know people who have had both cable and satellite at the same time. Does he only have D-TV for the 17 weeks of Sunday Ticket or he only gets it on the 17 Sundays? I understand he had some deal in 1994 and got grandfathered, but I am missing something here it seems.
They don't make you pay for anything, it's free will. DirecTV has dropped the extra charge for HD access this year.
Thats cuz they are already charging $300 ($320 from new customers). That price already includes HD games. Yes, if you do like auto pay, they will give you free HD. I got free HD for life as long as I keep a certain package.
