So what you are saying is, DirecTV doesn't care about signal splits as long as we pay them. Each additional receiver gets them $5. I highly doubt they would be happy with the 5 bucks extra they get when they are giving you $20 discount with a simple phone call. I had done it for years, even suspended my services during non football season. I've been late on my payments as well (just like most of us). Maybe thats how it is up in Canada. Not in the US.
http://www.bell.ca/web/tv/en/qc/pdfs/channels/channels.pdf First provider in North America to do customizable packaging like this.
What I'm saying is, everyone can get that $20 discount. Not everyone can get the $100. Not everyone can get the free movies. Not everyone can get free HD. Not everyone can get monthly discounts. It's all based on your customer value. As long as you make consistant payments and don't let the billing get out of hand, they won't bother you. Your value will remain high. It's not hard to comprehend, you just seem to want to argue about it.
I worked for Dish customer service a few years back, and the more levels of CSR's you go through, the more you will get. Also, I had ST a few years ago, went to cancel the 2nd year, got it half off, kept it, then cancelled it the third year even after receiving the same offer. I live in VA, but at the time I didn't have locals in my area so I get NY locals. But now, I do get locals, but somehow they never activated them and I'm still getting NY locals. But as soon as I call to make a change on my service, it will auto change the locals. My wife better be happy with this service for as long as we live.
Don't trip while you backpedal, you could get hurt. Splitting receivers is actually a very viable solution regardless of how it's carried out.
no back peddling required. the idea is fucking stupid. and the idea that some ridiculous lie that nobody would fall for is required is even more so. by your own admission, it isn't that they are deceived by such an asinine lie, it is that they don't care, thus the lie is irrelevant. so, not only is someone who thinks the lie is sound and can be effectively deceptive a moron for thinking someone else is dumb enough to fall for it, they are so dumb they don't even realize that it is unnecessary. considering my criticism of that plan was about how stupid someone has to be to think someone else was dumb enough to fall for the lie, you only validated what I said. thank you. to use your own lame analogies, you may want to pay attention where you are going with your posts or you will keep walking into walls.
I beg to differ. I was a Directv subscriber for 12 years, every year with the Sunday Ticket, some with MLB extra innings, DVR service from when they started it, HD etc. I calculated that I had given them almost $20,000 over the course of time. WITH NEVER BEING LATE ON A PAYMENT. About a month ago I was adding TV's to my plan from 4- 7. (we had Cable on three) The serviceman (scheduled 3 weeks out) who was supposed to show never did. The second attempt was just as bad and our 8am-Noon showed up eventually around 5pm. I made several calls along the way - finally when he did show , I said to customer service that I want the installation charge $49 and what they were charging me for a HD DVR $199 waived or I was cancelling. They said no. I told them to cancel the order and my subscripition. No attmept to keep me. So much for customer value. I had Dish Network installed the NEXT day. I called at 5pm the service man was here at 9am. I got 7 Tv's hooked up, DVR, HD free for life and I am also paying half of what I was paying Direct before the Sunday ticket, no installation charges etc. Two days later I got a call from Directv trying to get me back - too late. Even after I told them I have a contract with dish they have still been calling (about 5 calls now). To make matters worse, I just received a bill from Directv showing a credit balance of $150. I call to ask them to send the check and they have the balls to tell me a check will be cut in 8 weeks. Fuckers just guaranteed I will never switch back.
I just called DTV because of the following: 1) They started “early payment billing” for the NFL ticket. (6 payments of $50) 2) On top of that, they increased our monthly fee for service from 39.99 in May to $43.99 in June and July, to now 64.99 in August (not counting the NFL ticket charges). That increase was mostly the disappearance of some discounts. When I called, I chose the cancel service option. I explained my concerns to the agent, and told her I wanted to cancel the package because I couldn't stomach the increases on top of the package. She offered me six payments of 29.99 rather than six of 49.99. She also extended a 7 dollar discount per month to cover the DVR monthly fee for a full year going forward. I then asked her about HBO. She offered me a 14.99 per month for HBO/Cinemax, which would include a discount from the regular 26.00 per month fee for that. You can cancel HBO at any time, FYI.
Well, Im not gonna knock this method too much. I also got them down to $180 dollars ($29.99 for 6 months) instead of the whooping $300 they try and get from you. No complaints from this guy...
I'm giving up ST this year anyway, so i'll see what they do. Most times the other games we'd all most likely look to watch besides our Jets are usually on anyway.
Shit, I should tell my dad about that one. He's been with directv since they came out in 1994 and had the ST since it became available. Now all he needs to do is get over himself and get a damn HDTV.
I tried it 8 years ago..I missed the cutoff. Basically he only has to pay for the Ticket and he can choose any other service he wants..ie cable, Dish... edit...and keep it at a set price..
I don't know how many people have tried this but Direct TV will go along way to keep you on board. I've been with them since 04 and any issue I have they always hook me up. I call to cancel something and I usually get something that gets me to keep it. When I lost my job they gave me my sports package for free for 6 months and took 10 dollars off my bill every month for 6 months as well so I was saving about 25 bucks a month and didn't give up any service. When I moved they gave me the remainder of Sunday Ticket for free (which was only a little more then a month) plus HBO for only 10 bucks extra a month because I didn't want to upgrade receivers or my DVR. Fortunately where I love I don't need ST because I can walk into any casino place a bet on any game and watch it and eat and drink for free. I realized I was wasting money by having it although it gives me more money to bet so it's a win/win for me. That being said it was great to wake up at 9 make some breakfast and watch the Jets on my couch while still sitting in my pajamas.
OT but I think you guys would like For everyone with Sunday ticket you can save a lot. If you call and complain about the price and that you'll cancel they knock 20 bucks off each month. My dad let me know when he called and I just did it as well. Thought you guys would like to know.
