no brad smith throwing plays. the wildcat is pretty tame with only 3 plays. the playbook is pretty standard and i'm sure i will be using a different teams playbook once the game comes out.
Lot of reverses and fake reverses out of the wild cat. Brad Smith is at QB and LT is on the reverse. Stadium looks great!
Just played it. Made an epic comeback win with 3 seconds to play, ending it at 14-13 Jets. Had a play in the 3rd quarter where I ran a play action bomb to Braylon Edwards. Guess what happens next? A - Coverage is good, spectacular catch made for a 48 yd completion. B - Edwards is open, Sanchez overthrows by 10 yards. C - Edwards is wide open, ball hits him in the head and is incomplete. If you guessed C, you'd be correct.
The gameplay is pretty good. I don't think it's as good as NCAA's gameplay, but I think that might just be because Madden is a bit harder on the same difficulty. The Strategy Pad is a huge epic fail (of the QB vision cone variety) and I hope they can just patch it and put in the NCAA/old system. Maybe you guys like GameFlow but (to me) it's basically the same thing as Ask Madden but with 1 option rather than 3. You get the offensive/defensive coordinator talking on every play which is a nice touch. Gus Johnson's energetic commentary is a great addition. I hope this is Cris Collinsworth's last year, though. Unsurprisingly, both teams' depth charts are out of whack (mostly ours) and I don't see why they can't let you adjust it. I haven't fiddled around with the Gameplan feature and I don't really see any point to it if you aren't going to be using GameFlow. It would be nice if you could use it to chance your audible options for different situations but I don't think it works that way. You can expect to see that in Madden 13. Not much more to say. The Strategy Pad is a major game breaker for me.
Anyone else find the gameplay feel absolutely atrocious ? I was beyond stoked for this, and feel like its easily going to be the worst madden game ever. And thats coming from someone whose been rocking every madden since super nintendo
I thought the gameplay was spot-on. Madden always felt very arcadey to me.. As if the game played well but was on 150% speed. The way players bounce off of tackles and screens seems much improved as well.
