since your last post last night on the subject, about 5 people pointed out, in the blurb you posted no less, where it alludes to your point being wrong. another few point out that there are variances of hte defense, and rightfully so you're clinging to that. but hte point stands that in MOST 34 defenses you're wrong. but fine you wanna harp on the variances fine. your perrogative. the fact that more than 12 hours have passed and you're singling out one of the most knowledgeable posters here bc your panties are in a tiff borders on trolling, yes.

i agree with your initial statement, however, that it should be the pats that are falling. there. can we move on please?

No dude I'm not talking about the Jets defense. I'm not trying to bash you. Just telling you that you are wrong here.

    Having read all the posts...

The Dolphag is oversimplifying and when TGG posters clarify he's stubbornly refusing to amend his earlier comments. It's cool, man. I know what you were trying to say but you did f%$# it up. You posted the article knowing the reaction it would get (don't pretend to be surprised) and then allied yourself too closely with it so you are being dissected with the article. Buy the ticket, take the ride.

The oversimplification was understandable but still wrong.

Ok, if I'm wrong I would admit it. So everyone here is saying that in a 3-4 defense it is NOT a DE's job to go after the QB? If thats true, and I see some proof of that, I'll admit I'm wrong, no doubt. I posted an article stating that in a 3-4 defense it IS the DE's job to rush the QB. But nobody will post an article or anything telling me I'm wrong. All I get is "your wrong", "your stupid", "your a dolphag". What is that crap? Show me I'm wrong.

Which position gets the majority of the sacks in big time 34 defenses? The OLB. I don't care what kind of 34 scheme a team is running. The OLB is your premiere pass rusher. Yeah, the 34 end will get an occasional sack by collapsing the pocket, but it's not their primary job. The 34 end is supposed free up space for his linebackers to do damage. That's as simple as I can put it.

    Oh yeah:

    You're wrong. You're stupid. You're a Dolphag.

Ur not a bad guy dude, and I'm not trying to give u a hard time, but how are u missing this? This was taken from the article you posted:

What all this means is, DEs in a traditional 34 are meant to take up blockers so that the OLBs can rush the passer. The 2 examples your article used as DE's that rush the passer (Peppers and Freeney) both play in 43 defenses.

Ok, I can see your points. BUT, even a while taking up blocks, there still persuing the QB. So I can see your arguements, I was just reading a little deeper than everyone was realizing. So, I will take the hit for this one. I apoligize for the arguement.

    Reading deeper?

You're whole argument was based on the fact that a 3-4 DE is a defensive player, thus his job is to get after the QB. That was beyond shallow....

If you're playing a one gap responsibility as a 3-4 end then you will be rushing the passer. You won't be expected to be the main pass rusher like a 4-3 DE or 3-4OLB but your job will be similiar to the 3tech (or under tackle) in the 4-3.Shoot the gap.

Well I as I read even deeper, I find that the role of a 3-4 DE is also to tackle. I find it sad that this has not been mentioned.

Tackling is a big part of the defense, at least in my opinion.

    lol

Damn it man. I totally forgot about the tackling part. My bad. But doesn't that depend on who your playing though? Do you tackle Chris Johnson, but not Frank Gore? And is that only if the DE wears a size 15 shoe? Or does it matter?

Without looking at the link - is this about Richie Incognito...

Biggest Flake in the NFL... My cousin played HS ball with him and guy is a poster child for the jacked up steroid Muscle head #### bag....

I remember at draft time when I wondered if he was someone the Jets should look at and I was shot down at the time from draftnicks that also said this guy was the biggest problem child around....

Guy hasn't done 1 thing to try to change his attitude as a pro - He's a problem waiting to happen and it wouldn't be a horroble bet to see when he gets suspeneded for Drug use or for just being stupid...

I'm actually VERY surprised Parcells had anything to do with him... I think he was desperate and took a chance - we'll see...

Calm down Princess. Did you really expect to come onto a Jets site, post an article that does down the Jets, get into a tallest dwarf contest with a dyslexic Bills fan, and then be told what a clever lad you are?

May I recommend you sit back and pour yourself a nice cold refreshing pint of toughen the fuck up?
