You are right about that. The only reason the Jets/Giants "needed" a new stadium was b/c they wanted to charge more money to guys in club seats. But, every once in a while, their greed works to our benefit. Lets say a season tickets cost $1050 per year including two worthless PS games. The real cost per game is $131.25 ($1050/8). If they eliminated a preseason game and replaced it with a real game, I would gladly pay $1181 ($131*9) for the same seat. Anything below that is a win. Plus, one preseason game might be fun. Two is a beating.
If you like the records out of 16 games, you will just have to reply on Per game averages to compare eras. It sucks, I like the records too, but the old timers probably felt the same way when it was 14, etc. also, the players will still have HoF recognition to memorialize their achievements.
