Every Wednesday night in August we are gonna be must see Television. That being said I was wondering what you guys think the Jet players aka, Scott Mangold Jenkins Woody and whoever else will do to these new rookies coming in. You know its going to be hilarious and defintely shown on TV. I remeber last year when the whole defensive line or defense not sure went on a long run and Mangold put lemon juice in the water bottles
I wouldnt be surprised to see Bartt Scott at the end of every episode go up to a rookie and just tell him to carry his equipment back
am I the only one that does not want to see the Jets on HBO? I must be be but I don't care, sounds like a bad idea to me. I don't care how many jerseys are sold.....
Apparently Dez Bryant doesn't handle hazing well. RealSkipBayless I can't wait until 10 a.m. Eastern tomorrow to talk about Dez Bryant refusing to carry Roy's pads as part of rookie hazing. Just suck it up, every rookie goes through. Stop being a bitch.
Could you call WFAN and tell that whining old lady Beningo the same thing. That ass wipe is raging on the Jets for having the half time cermony for the ring of honor during a pre-season game. Never mind its the first game in the new place, we are playing the Giants and its a national game on ESPN. That guy is so down on the Jets and the HBO gig, its sickening. In the back of our minds, as long timers, we are a little hesitant, but overall, enthuiasm is at all time high. Not Beningo, jerk
he needs ratings, and that's how he gets them I guess. I don't listen to him anymore because I know he's going to act like a losing vagina. I've been screaming for a culture change, for this team and its fans to stop cowering when faced with being great for a few years, and I finally got my coach and my attitude. This is the greatest time to be a Jets fan in such a long time.
I'm not crazy about it either. Play football and get ready for the season, not be concerned with TV. They are football players not actors. It will be a distraction, especially for the rookies. The Jets had luck on there side at the end of last season, I loved it, but why not just go into the pre-season doing what you did last year. Establish your system get it all down pat, win an AFC Championship, super bowl then go on TV. Any thought or effort that goes toward hard knocks is less that goes towards football. Guys may get wrapped up with the show and not fully concentrate on what they get paid to do. Then again it is all about money.
It's really not a distraction according to every coach who's been involved with it. In fact most have said that it keeps the tempo of practice up and actually helps. We don't have all that many rookies to worry about anyway. This is a veteran team. A veteran team in New York - I'm gonna guess they've seen a camera or two in their day. Nobody can seem to successfully poke holes in this team talent-wise, so they need to come up with a whole bunch of bullshit psychoanalysis so that they have something to point to when things go wrong. They didn't concentrate because of Hard Knocks, Cro can't cover because he's thinking about keeping the names of his kids straight, Holmes ran the wrong route cause he couldn't hear the audible with his IPod headphones in, blah blah blah. I'm guessing it's two Sanchez picks in before someone starts a thread blaming it on Jamie Lynn Sigler. This is the NFL. Not Doctor Phil. Until someone actually goes on IR with a sandy vagina none of this matters.
That says it all. I'm going to keep chanting that I hope he's our Bill Cowher. Rex is awesome and his swagger gives this team the confidence it needs in the face of SOJF. He should retire from this team.
