Not even a team source, Cimini? Usually you'll at least give us the "according to NFL executives" source.
If our front 3 in the 3-4 is Ellis-Jenkins-Pouha no one is running the ball.. at all. Passing downs take out Pouha and throw in a more athletic DeVito or even Gholston and i don't see the need for Douglas
Yea, that works great untill you realize the the big boys like Pouha and Jenks only play 40 to 60% of the snaps. Pouha is vital is his ability to hold the fort when we need to rest Jenkins. Playing them both at the same time is usefull in spots but would make the lack of depth on our D line all the more evident.
Well, it looks as though Merling may be out for the season, so I have been hearing that Miami may go after Douglas. Would be a good fit here since Nolan knows him well. I'm also hearing news that Miami is inquiring about getting Marcus Spears from Dallas via trade.
That would be an excellent addition for Miami. I don't really think that Spears is close to elite, but he's a dependable player like Shaun Ellis.
i'd love to see Douglas back in green and white this year. lots of tackles for loss, real stout on the run, and knows the system. thought he was a good role player last year.
Ok, so it was confirmed last night. Merling is gone for the season. I think Merling has played his last game (thank god) in a Dolphin uniform. I have read numerous reports that Miami is eyeing Douglas. He would be a great addition for us and give our rook Odrick some mentouring. I have also been hearing reports about Miami being interested in Marcus Spears. Spears was drafted by Parcells, but it would make more since to push for Douglas, as he is a free agent, and to get Spears we would have to give up a draft pick. Parcells doesn't like giving up picks. So I would say that Douglas will probably be a Dolphin this year, and Mike Nolan knows him well. We'll see.
