I'm sure you've watched a ton of Cleveland Browns games over the years to know that and still not get his name right.

Pool can make a few plays. I haven't seen a lot of him either, but when he's healthy, he has a nose for the ball from what little I have seen.

Eric Smith and Brodney Pool will be in a probable platoon. During the season, I think Pool will be getting most of the cred because nobody saw him coming.

Jets are ranked 7 in the Offensive Line rankings which I find to be pretty odd. It's a very respectable spot but I feel the line is easily top 3 in the league. They put too much value in the quarterback when computing their OL rating, something I feel shouldn't even be involved. Tom Brady is a better quarterback than Mark Sanchez, therefore the Patriots are ranked 2nd and the Jets 7th... does not compute.

Smith is a safety that has shown weakness to the long ball. I think when you look at him...as ABYZ pointed out in an earlier post..in this scheme he could be a hell of a player in a certain roll. Against the run and a great blitzer.

As a true safety, I would understand the lack of respect he would get. When people outside of Jet Nation analyze him, they would never understand what we see on a weekly basis and in this system.

I totally agree with those that say, with the upgrade at the corner and nickel, dime positions and surely an improved pass rush, this should be a very interesting year for him.

The safeties could be better, but I think the overall quality of the cb's right now compensates to some extent.

I think Eric Smith will essentially play strong safety as a free safety on early downs. Since we play man most of the time with our corners receiving little help over the top, this frees us up to put extra guys in the box. Then on passing downs we can bring in Pool to help in coverage.

Poole on bench > Sherry on field.

Besides, with Revis and Crom we don't even need safties.
