2007 and 2008 were both very good for Folk, 2009 (I think) is an anomaly because of that hip injury.

He missed 2 FGs under 30 yards in 2007, and converted less than 85% of attempts, which puts him in pretty middle-of-the-pack standings. Kaeding, in 6 years, has only had 2 years under 87%, one of which, his rookie season...the other, he was still 23/23 on kicks under 40 yards.

Nate Kaeding is 7/15 in the playoffs.

That's not even close to being middle-of-the-pack.

You can go back to your Chargers' board now.

Wait.. you're shitting on Folk for converting less than 85% in 2007 (his rookie year), and giving Kaeding a pass for converting 80% in '04 because that was his rookie year? gtfo

In 2007 his Pro Bowl year he 83.9% overall, 100% on extra points.

    20-29 yards, 10-12. 30-39 yards, 7-7, 40-49 yards, 7-7, and 50+, 2-5.

2008 he was 90.9%, and in Dallas's new home was 64.3%

Kickers complained of the Turf in Dallas and the evidence was there.

Shaun Suisham was 20-24 last year and 3 of those misses came in the Cowboy stadium. I can't find the article now but something about the turf not being broken in.

He was nearly perfect last year 1-39 yards, 12 of 14. 40+ yards he was 3-6 away and 3-8 at home. They didn't even have him attempt a 50+ yarder at home last year, so I think the Cowboys knew something was wrong.

I just think it's too much of a coincidence that the Cowboys play in a new home and his FG% dropped so much. If you average his first 2 years he was 87% accurate, then in 2009 he's only 64.3%.

I know the Giants have already complained and some Jets about our new stadium I just hope they break that shit in.

No, I'm saying that in 6 years, he's had 2 years under 87%, and in 3 years, Folk has had 2. Anyone who compares the two is really quite delusional. So we've heard it was the injury, and now it's the turf. Did the big screen and the sexy cheerleaders divert his attention as well?

His playoffs record, nothing to write home about. All his missed prior to last season were from 45+ yards out. He had a meltdown in 2009, I don't think that's debatable. But prior to the last year, Kaeding hasn't exactly missed easy kicks. Anyone on this board who can honestly convince themselves that Folk is in the same league as Kaeding defines homer.

He also missed an overtime 40-yarder that would have kept the Charger's '04 playoff run alive. And his total playoff record is 7/15. You're right, that is nothing to write home about.

I think comparing the two is delusional, not for whatever reason you're giving, but because Folk has only played 3 seasons and had hip surgery after 2.

My only real concern with the Turf is injuries. If our kicker sucks thats fine, since any opposing kicker should suck alot more since theyd be less used to it.

But with that Turf you could easily see a career ending injury happen to one of the big guys, or even just enough to screw up a season hurting someone else.

Makes you especially worriesome about big jenks coming off that injury

In the New Meadowlands Folk won't have to hit a fade around the TV from 40 yards out. Problem solved. Next unbelievable topic.
