I was a little shocked when the pick was announced, but it makes a lot of sense - especially in a league where multiple backs are needed. Joe McKnight is a very versatile player that can contribute all over the field: the slot, the backfield, and as a return specialist. He's got elite agility and quickness. This pick is all about potential and if this kid gets everything together, he'll be special.
John Conner looks like he could be a pro-bowler after 2-3 years in the NFL. He seems like he can do all 3 well (Catch, Block, and Run the ball). But on a side note.....Does anyone know anything about Randall Cobb? It seems like every video this guy is taking it to the house.
Randall Cobb is a hell of an athlete. I'm excited to see Kentucky's offense this season - Locke and Cobb are both home run threats. I'm working on a best-of-best in each conference and I plan on posting the SEC list next week - Cobb will definitely be on the list.
Cobb is a very explosive athlete, can score from almost any position. He isn't as fast as you'd think, but his acceleration and "wiggle" makes up for it. I was impressed that he beat Javier Arenas for a 45 yard TD deep, Arenas is no slouch defensively. He reminds me of Dexter McCluster in 2 ways: Not a burner, but has very good shiftyness and the fact Kentucky took so long to finally utilize him correctly...
Maybe we could get Cobb in the later rounds this year coming up? :jets: He seems like he would be worth looking at for a guy with altheticism like him.
FWIW, this is the best collection of John Conner highlights I've been able to find. http://www.miamidolphins.com/aquavision/video/john-connor-college-highlights Curiously enough, it's on the Dolphins website.
^ Good shit...nice find JCotch. I really hope Schottenheimer uses him in a similar way - he's actually a deceptively dangerous receiver.
Man, he really doesn't have a neck at all. Its like the helmet attaches directly to his chest or something. This guy looks like a moving boulder that hurts people.
