in the Lions' defense...i'd want to purge every Millen draft pick off my roster too.

How Matt Millen is still employed in a field related to football completely baffles me. He may just be the worst GM in the history of sports... not just the NFL.

Millen is a good TV Analyst, but was in WAY over his head in his role with the Lions.

Being a personnel guy is much different than giving analysis of the games, plays, players or teams. Millen was a great player and one of the best Game Analysts before he left to go to Detroit. Since he's returned to television I personally think he's done a great job.

At least Milbury had an excuse for some of his moves (some of the worst ownership in the history of sports.)

The only person who can challenge Matt Millen is maybe Isiah Thomas.

The obvious yet often overlooked one there is Elgin Baylor. Yes, the owner is a lunatic, but to be unable to even bring mediocrity to the Los Angeles market for over 20 years is incomprehensible.

That's an amazing stat. Someone smarter me could figure this out, but I'm guessing that pulling names out of a hat filled with the top 400 players every time the team drafted would have given the Lions at least one solid player from those drafts.

The Clippers are doomed. Awful personnel decisions happen when your owner is a cheap bastard. Their first round picks are all doomed to knee injuries, it's the way it is. I can try and dig up the Bill Simmons article which will give you a laugh and educate you on the horrible luck of the Clippers, but I'm a lazy bastard and it's Sunday.

I thought he was overrated as an analyst.

An old post of mine from 2009 after the wizard got an analyst gig for the 2008 postseason-

I didn't like him and was thrilled when he headed off to the Detroit front office. I got mad when he was fired by the Lions this season because I knew there was a chance he'd get a TV job again. I didn't like listening to this jerk off before the Lions fiasco. I certainly don't want to hear from him now.

    Here's a comment I made in a September 2007 baseball thread-
I'm taking the Matt Millen approach. I'm just going to look at scores and then find out later who made the playoffs.

Millen actually made a comment like that before the start of a Week 17 game in his final year of broadcasting. I couldn't believe it! Here he was announcing a game and he said he had no interest in the playoff scenarios because he didn't want to bother trying to figure them out! It's one thing if a fan takes that approach. It's another thing when a broadcaster doesn't give a shit.
