I don't know logic would say he would be forced to perform if he wantsto get the HUGE payday when the contract is up. Not playing as well will not help him get the big bucks he thinks he deserves.

lets be real here, Revis WILL NOT be playing the next three seasons under his current deal. We may somehow convince him to play this season, by saying that next year once the CBA is in, we will give him what he wants. but beyond that, if we refuse to pay him, he will hold out all of TC and the first 10 games of the season (ala what V-Jax is planning to do in SD this year.) so I don't think anyone should really be believing that just because we buy back those two years, that Revis is just going to hop back on the field without trying to holdout...

QFT. Buying back the remaining three seasons on Revis' deal and expecting him to play for the duration of it will kill any chances the Jets have of holing him long-term.

    As for the OP:

    1 down, 3 to go.

its amazing how things swing around here. going into last year everyone was saying how much of a dissappointment this kid was and there were a few of us defending him and really looking at how he was performing. the year before it was even worse.

now all of a sudden he is the greatest thing since sliced bread, highest paid lineman in the nfl....

in a year and a half he will be dogshit and people will want to run him out of town.

Let's be real here - the problem is the 1 mil this year - not the buyback years that has Revis's ego in an uproar.

My gut tells me - no deal gets done this year and if he holds out after the buyback - he will never see the field as a Jet again.

He's the highest paid because of how long the contract is... all that counts is avg per year and in those terms other guys make more.

There were some people here who still didn't recognize D'Bricks talent prior to last season, but most had come to realize he was at worst a good LT. Nice revisionist history though.

with what, 32 million?, guarenteed that kinda takes the teeth out of the Revis statements about being cheap on guarenteed monies by the Jets.

It's been discussed about 100 times here, Revis WILL NOT play out his current contract.

So how does that work? You're a Jets fan, but a Heat fan in the NBA?

    Are you a Yankees fan?

Born and raised in South Florida and have been a Heat fan my whole life but grew up around Jets Fans. And no I'm actually a Braves fan when I actually give a shit about baseball. And in case your wondering as far as NHL goes I'm an Anaheim/Colorado fan. Can't really explain it but that's just how I roll. Heat are the only South FL team I root for.

Were you a Dolphins fat at all, say up until this past year? lol
