Yes a season that can not be replicated for that matter.

He's proven himself now to the point where the QB where check their 2nd, 3rd, and even 4th option first. if that makes sense, lol.

Great job getting D'Brick extended to protect Mark's blindside for the next 8 years.

However, I don't quite understand why he was signed before Mangold & Harris were, seeing as D'Brick had 2 years remaining on his deal with Mangold & Harris just have one. I could see one of those two being resigned with the other being franchised.

Maybe Tanny is trying to prove a point, if you keep you mouth shut and show up, we will get your deal done.

Revis and Mangold both have said they haven't ruled out skipping camp.

Harris might not get done until 2011, and it appears he is okay with that.

Or it's just a seniority thing, lol

This is awesome news for Sanchez and the franchise as a whole.

Ferguson is almost irreplaceable, so it was imperative to lock him up and make him happy.

Didn't Revis say the Jets need to keep their players?

I'm going to quote Walterfootball.com here "To win in the NFL you need a Quarterback, someone to protect the quarterback, and someone to get the other teams quarterback." We finally have these possitions locked up long term. Good for Brick now he has to earn his deal.

    LETS GET REVIS DONE!

This could not be more untrue. In the NFL, players are constantly playing at a low salary because they got their money up front in bonus (or they weren't drafted that high), and plenty play well doing it. Thomas Jones played for $900,000 last year and got 1400 yards rushing doing it. LaMarr Woodley had 13.5 sacks last year playing for less than $1 million, after having 11.5 sacks the year before. Kevin Williams is the best DT in the NFL, and played last year for $1 million and will be playing this year for $2.2 million. Steve Smith had 107 catches last year and is going to make $550,000 this year - are you saying that he's going to stink? Sidney Rice is making $550,000 this year after catching 83 passes for 1300 yards last year - I guess he's going to stink if the Vikings don't renegotiate?

Agreed on all points. It's nice not to have D'Brick hanging in the wind any more but now he needs to go out and prove he's worth an elite contract. Mangold next and then Harris and the Jets are as settled as they're likely to get going into next season. I actually think it's going to be harder to sign Harris than Mangold, because there's no question that Mangold deserves a top contract but you can make arguments that Harris is tier 1.5, below the star linebackers.

Somehow, I think Tanny & Co. probably have a pretty good idea as to what will be offered in the upcoming CBA negotiations including Cap numbers. That's the only way they could realistically guarantee so much to Brick all the while knowing they have to sign their other core players and this doesn't even factor in Holmes, Edwards and Cro.

The reason Mangold/Harris haven't been done is because of the 30% rule. They both made peanuts last year and cannot be given an increase above 30% of what they made last year. If they want to sign for a little over a million a year, the Jets would take that in a minute. The only way the Jets can do it would be to give them huge, guaranteed signing bonuses which I'm sure they're leery about doing with a lockout possible. There may be other loopholes that Tanny is exploring but I doubt they would be in the best interests of the team. Both players will probably have to wait it out. Tanny is not sending any messages here, this is purely business. Should be interesting to watch it play out...

Why the fuck is he getting so much guaranteed money, but Revis said he didnt? I think something is very fishy between the jets and Revis..

D'Brick can point to a lot of other LT contracts to try to make his case for how much guaranteed money should be in his deal. He's also in the walk year of his contract so he can apply all the leverage that implies to get the Jets to see things his way.

Revis apparently is looking only at Aso's contract and he has 3 years left on his deal. The thing that is fishy here is the position that Revis and his agents are bargaining from. Lots of smoke, mirrors and illusionary walls and they're trying to get the Jets to corner themselves in that maze. Good luck with that.

Don't forget we can franchise Revis after that, assuming the franchise tag still exist in the new CBA. :p

Look, I don't want to 'piss off' anybody, but I don't think he deserves $16 mill a year either. Obviously the decision is Tanny's, but I'd be SHOCKED if Revis gets $16 mill this year or the next. I don't see Revis getting an extension until he comes down from that number.

BTW, we're not 'about to offer' a contract. We've already offered him a contract extension; He felt insulted....

Awesome news. Good job Tanny in getting a contract done before camp.

I can't wait to see how Bart Hubbach spins this. He was the one saying no way would Brick get an extension

I don't think anybody knows how the contract is actually structured yet.

I think 2 of them were Freeney very close together which were Sanchez's faults.
