No wonder why Revis deal is taking longer...perhaps we are working on other things too besides the Revis deal?

Outstanding, he should have been the second guy signed after Revis, but with that whole fiasco I'm glad they got his deal done. He really is on the verge of being one of the best tackles in the game. You get a player of his caliber at that position, you keep him forever (see Pace, Jones, McKinnie, Adams, Samuels, etc.). LT's don't go anywhere.

Sweet. If the Jets can get deals done with Brick, Mangold and Harris first, then they can turn to Revis and tell him what's left in the pot for him. It might encourage him and his team to be a little more flexible in their demands if he can see others getting deals done - it isn't like there's a clock ticking on Revis's contract, so Tanny can afford to let him sweat for a bit while he ties up the more pressing needs.

I like D'Brick better now than his first few years, but no way is he in that caliber. I sure hope we didn't pay him like he is...

Just wait two years then pay Revis as the top CB in the league. We'd save a few million a year, on the cap, that way cause Aso ridiculous contract would have expired by then. :)

Seems like he'll get around $10-11 mil a year. Not bad. Pretty good considering its an extension. By the time this would be over, he'd be around 33-34 years old and on the downhill.

I doubt if Revis waits 2 years for an extension.

    beautiful.

one domino falls, now time to work on Mangold.

I love Darrelle as much as anyone. But the fact remains he has no leverage. He's essentially under contract for three more years. When Aso signed his deal he had all the leverage and it was universally acknowledged as a ridiculous overpayment. So what's he gonna do? Sit out the first ten games for the next three years?
