Just started the third in the series ("The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest"). It picks up right where number 2 left off. So far, so good.

Just finished the third book. Very satisfying conclusion. I had read that before he died, Larsson had a plan mapped out 10 books. The way the third one concludes, it definitely doesn't leave you feeling that there are big loose ends.

Three great books, three very different plots, one great character.

Just read ...... Lone Survivor by Marcus Luttrell .... it is an excellent. It is about the SEAL's and in particular Operation Redwing where a Seal team, MT was a part of, got ambushed in Afghanistan. He was obviously the only survivor.

Marcus Luttrell is an exceptional individual though I feel incredibly bad for him. You should search the 9/11 call where he stayed on the line with authorities while chasing down a couple of hoodlums who killed his dog (after he returned from Afghanistan) and managed to help police setup a blockade and get them before they could get away.

Lone Survivor was incredible btw. A must read for anyone who is interested in the stories of American soldiers in today's theater of war.

Have you read "Ghost Soldiers"? If so, which was the better book?

I picked up The Passage this past weekend, I'm finishing up another book, so I let my pizza have first crack at it. She's been praising it from the start. Thankfully, she's a fast reader, I can't wait to read it!

Ah, yeah. Props to Mr. Electric. I just started The Passage last night -- wow. I like to read before falling asleep, this thing had me up waaay late. I can't remember the last time I've fallen into a book like this, and I'm an extremely avid reader -- Possibly not since The Road.

    Czech this one out!

Going to agree to disagree, I've been playing it for over 3 years and still love it.

I will admit though, it definitely isn't for everyone.

Read The Passage on the few nights I couldn't sleep over in Italy. Started off extremely well and then turned into something completely different, a tad more mundane and without direction IMO. You could almost see the exact point where Cronin got the call to turn it into a trilogy.

Still a good read but waiting two fucking years to read the next book is going to really piss me off.

And the finale is due in 2015? GFY.

You just got mind-fucked by Justin Cronin. That's all.

It's funny, the beginning sections of the book were the only parts I didn't enjoy and if I hadn't heard so many good things about it I might not have continued. I wasn't a big fan of the characterization in general in the book and pretty much everyone was a walking cliche in the early parts. I also could've done without the constant cliff hangers/fake deaths although the end sort of made up for this.
