I happen to agree with you, but wow, it sure hasn't worked out well for Cincy, has it?

Mets a single away from tying it up.

    Down 2 now.

Another deep fly to center, caught by Pagan. 2 out.

--3rd out, another deep fly. They sure hit Nieve hard this inning.

yeah, lolol. Good fight from the Mets. I thought it was the right move at the time.

How about Nieve throwing BP up there for the 6th?? In a different park, that's back-to-back-to-back-to-back.

Are you a batting practice pitcher now, Nieve?

If this is a Cincinnati home game that might have been 4 HRs in the inning against Nieve.

Think Votto should be in the All-Star game?

It is tough when the bullpen is horribly weak

I think he should. I couldn't tell if you were asking sarcastically; do you?

    yeah he's being sarcastic

Votto has had a much better season than Howard, and if any other manager was choosing the players, Votto would've been named as a reserve.

It should be Pujols, Gonzalez, and Votto at first base.

Wagner should be on the roster as well.

very close play on the bunt

Tejada just about beat that out. He should not have looked back.

Votto is on a campaign to get more votes.

He has a good argument for MVP.

Oh yeah, as Yis said I was being sarcastic. His third extra base hit tonight only emphasizes it more, but it was already obvious. Apparently he's the first guy in NL history to have been in the top 5 in the league in BA, HR, and RBI at the break and not make the All-Star game.

On the other hand, he might not be the smartest baserunner in the world, as he's thrown out by 5 feet at third by Francoeur. And Keith actually claims that it was a good idea? In what world is being at 3rd with two outs better enough than being at 2nd that you would run on a guy with the best RF arm in the league with a 2-run lead? Ridiculous.

But Votto foolishly tests Francouer, and he's out by about five feet.

    Sweet throw.

Watching the game and I'm bombarded by sisters/cousins that come downstairs to switch the TV to fucking Kardashians. Fuck this.

Bad loss there - you can't score 6 runs at home and not win. If Pelfrey isn't going to go back to how he was pitching until mid-June the Mets are in big trouble.

This wasn't as bad as the 2 give away losses in Washington. What are you gonna do? You get 5 in the 5th and you gotta think you're gonna score more. Nieve actually pitches decently and the bats completely shut down. No loss is good, but considering it was 7-1 at one point, I wouldn't call it bad.

It's bad because it's at home, and your 10-win pitcher falls apart, giving up 5 2-out runs. Once you're down by 6 runs the chances of coming back are very remote. I give the team credit for not giving up, but that's exactly why it's a bad loss - if Pelfrey had even limited the damage to Stubbs' hit, it's 4-1 and the Mets are still in it. Giving up a two-run double to a .220 hitter (Miller) and an RBI triple to the pitcher is unforgivable.
