Tonight Mike Pelfrey is trying for his 11th victory.

Joey Votto with home run into apple box.

I wonder if Votto should be on the All-Star team?

If Pelf doesn't have his stuff this could be a long game. This team can hit.

Wright, Ike, and Bay string together two-out singles for a run. Bay still isn't hitting for power, but at least he's been productive for the last few games.

Corky Miller with a ridiculous mustache in an effort to draw attention from his ridiculous name.

What is a worse name for a grown man- Chipper or Corky?

This game might be spinning out of control here.

Pelfrey gets a ridiculous break getting a call on a tipped third strike when it actually hit Rolen. I wonder if they're going to change the call.

They just overruled the call. Manuel will now get himself ejected, but it's actually the right call.

I am not sure if that ball hit rolen, but I am sure Backman would have thrown a water cooler and other stuff onto the field. "Pick that shit up, you dumb motherfuckers."

Game over. It's just as well that Pelfrey didn't make the All-Star team, since he's been pitching poorly since the middle of June (6.75 ERA).

I don't think it hit Rolen. It should've been called a ball.

That just turned a shaky inning that he could get out of into a full blown explosion.

Also the ball call against Stubbs really pissed off Pelfrey.

I think it's very likely that it hit his uniform, given how quickly Rolen dropped his bat and started going to first.

We'll never know, but given how poorly he's pitched tonight, and has pitched for 3 weeks, I have a hunch that he would have walked Rolen on the next pitch anyway.

Smart, smart move by Baker there. Senses potential big inning for the Mets. Probably told the kid, "Don't worry, you're gonna get plenty of wins in this league. Nice job on 3 days rest."

Think Manuel does that?? I doubt it.
