Phil must be so proud. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...sted-for-driving-while-impaired-by-marijuana/
That description sounds like he more shit-faced than anything else, but because it's Phil Simm's son, they're gonna give him a bit of a break.
Legal? Yes. Legal to drive around while stoned off your ass? No. Driving around at 2am, Stoned? Thats just dumb as fuck there.
alcohol is legal, it still doesn't change that you aren't allowed to drive while liquored up, so your comment simply has no relevance to the discussion if you are attempting to claim if it was legal him driving while under the influence wouldn't be a big deal.
"was observed with red eyes, flushed face and slurred speech at around 2 a.m." ...this quote doesn't definitively prove to me that he was too impaired to drive. A person can smoke marijuana and still be very capable of safely driving a vehicle. I would bet sleep deprivation has caused more vehicular deaths in this country than marijuana use. If he was impaired enough to be considered dangerous, then yes, he should be held accountable. But if you're as skeptical of police "reports" as I am (and as we all should be), you'd also take the quote with a grain of salt.
i smoke a lot of pot... i used to think that one can drive when high. i'm not above admitting how fucking stupid i was when i thought that. yes, you are more in control of a vehicle when you are super stoned as compared to super drunk, or any drunk for that matter. That, however, means you are in no way "very capable" of operating a vehicle. sorry, but that's just plain wrong.
You're entitled to your opinion. I've no problem if you want to smoke up at home, I'm not a huge anti-drug guy or anything. I just don't think it's a good idea to get out on the road while high. I also doubt a puff or two will make you instantly unable to drive. But if your eyes are red and you are slurring your words like this assbag, I doubt you are ok to drive. I don't care if he was drinking, smoking or huffing air dusters. If it were only risking his life, I wouldn't care. Unfortunately these people seem to be the ones that survive, not the people they crash into.
I don't think I've ever gotten so stoned that I can't drive. Maybe I have and didn't find my keys or manage to get up and try it, that's possible too.
I have. A good hydro blunt will keep you from walking to your car. I'm a proponent of legalization, but driving stoned slows your reaction time and puts you at risk. It's at a lower factor than alcohol, but it's not negligible either.
