I don't mean to sound like an asshole here but it can't be too much 'finesse' to swap a player pic and edit the text layer(s).

Well you may not have meant it but you did-

Soss designed the 2010 AJJ template, in those versions a pic is dropped in and text added.

The past players he's doing a different template, if you haven't noticed the ones already done.

It looks like they are getting the logo, etc... from that players era.

 

Didn't know that. I thought it was as simple as switching the picture and name. Sorry.
