Umm so Bulgers contract could come to hurt us since this guy is having some sort of money issues.

I don't see how Bulger's contract will affect Brunell signing with us.

He's saying since Bulger signed for one-year, $3.8 million contract. Including another $1.5 million thats available in incentives, that Brunell will want way more then Vet's Minimum like previously. And since he's filing for bankruptcy he'll need the money alot more then he'll need us. So if a teams are willing to offer somewhere around 1.5 mil with 500k incentives he'll take that over the 800k we want to offer him.

Also remember he'll have to move to the NY/NJ area , where homes and property taxes are at an all time high, making the area a bit less attractive.

His only vice would be being with a NY Team and a great chance at a Superbowl and thats about it.

I agree, though I don't see many suitors for Brunell.

If you think he just randomly decided to file one day, and hasnt been preparing for this for months, you're crazy. He's known about his issues and has known what the Jets will sign him for, for awhile.

I don't think there's anyone else lining up for Brunell.

Why would the jets overpay for an ancient backup QB? If Sanchez goes down the season is down the tubes anyway.

yea well someone aside from Cavanaugh has to teach this kid something.

15 yrs in the league makes you a valueable set of eyes for the QB actually playing.

Do we have to worry about him tanking plays to make a quick buck with the bookies? He wouldn't be let on as the field goal holder, would he?

    Keep Clemens and Brunell???

So are we going to sign him or not? The media said as soon as we could, we would. What do you guys think about signing Brunell and keeping Clemens? I can't stand Clemens but Brunell does not even know our offense and Ainge and O'Donell... I am not sure about. You get rid of Clemens and sign Brunell and Sanchez pulls a hammy and is out for 2-3 weeks in training camp, can Brunell handle 2 a days? I would sign Brunell and keep Clemens until I see Brunell play in the pre-season, and play well.

God I can't wait for the season to start. It's getting so tiresome talking about signing him or waiting on the other guy.

At least I am taking about what might take place on the field. I am sick and tired of hearing about how many PSL seats are left and anything about the new stadium. Its over, the place is built, the seats assigned and tickets will be mailed in less then a month. Its time to talk about the team, remember them?

The guy just filed for bankruptcy, I doubt he'll sign on the first day.

First day is 24/7 when the Cowboys report for camp, apparently - reports are that the CBA says the restrictions are lifted when the first full squad reports and that's Dallas this year.

Only rookies though, the article I read said it had to be the first day where a team had all players reporting.
