Possibly, but we all know the Patriots make Golden WRs out of shit. I can't see them doing offense in the round 2. but wtf do i know...
They really don't. Welker was always good, they just got him off a down year in Miami. Other than that, they succeeded with Edelman. Both guys benefit exceedingly from the Randy Moss effect. See Burleson, Nate for an idea of what I mean. In the past five years they've drafted Brandon Tate(injured), Matt Slater(special teams), and Chad Jackson(Florida bust HOF'er). The last receivers they really succeeded in developing besides Edelman were Deion Branch and David Givens. -X-
For whatever its worth or for whoever cares, I will be removing all selected players from the list until the Jets Go OTC
Excellent Pick in my view I think he could step right in as a starter if we cut ties with Faneca and it would be an upgrade Of course to make such a statement if Faneca was at his peak would be absurd, but IMO Faneca is a shell of his former self, below average pass protector and average run blocker, which is why we mostly run behind Moore & Woody. VLAD THE IMPALER is a 330 Mauler/Road Grader who instantly improves our Ground & Pound, and he doesn't have far to go to be at least as good as Feneca as a pass blocker either. Obviously this is not homerism because you can see VLAD was the #1 rated available OG/RT on my board and #7 Overall JMO
Absolutely, there's no doubt in my mind I Posted my TOP 100 last week and the impaler was #47 Overall, in what many have called the deepest draft with 1's and borderline 1's in decades, so IMO Vlad was an early two in most normal drafts (on my board), and that's high for an OG ... if you rank an OG in that area YOU SHOULD believe he can start right away. Otherwise you have no business ranking him that high.
No technique? A guy as versatile as him, who HAS played in numerous positions for the gamecocks, has technique. You can't be that versatile of a player without proper football technique. He played out of postion a lot, due to injuries, and he was still productive. He reminds me of Dumervil. Maybe a bold statement, but I'm a huge fan of this kid.
I had some great great conversations, arguments, and many a good time chatting up our drafts, seasons, and our beloved Jets... I'm an "old timer" here, just don't get to post as often as I used to, work marriage and my 6 month old have taken over the time I had to be on here, but I miss him as well.
