Can't see why so many are being hard on Holmes. The guy wants to improve his team and is open to constructive criticism from others.
I bet it's got nothing to do with this being a contract year, wink wink, but hey, it'll benefit us so i'm all for the new and improved Santonio!

our new SB MVP WR says Braylon has the potential to be the best and of course time for the horrible jokes about the fact Braylon dropped the ball an amazing mind boggling insurmountable 4 times last year.

i dunno if people realized Sanchez just kind of fed him the ball and Edwards had to make up for it.

wait till this year and people will be kissing Edwards ass.

cant wait to see him with a year of the system and some offseason time with Sanchez under his belt.

    dude is nasty

    Yes.

But still, nothing that got me worried in the least. It's so clear when watching him play that he's a stud. I'm predicting Braylon will be gone after this season.

Braylon may have dropped a few of the easy passes last year, but he made up for it by making some really difficult catches.

I just don't see us being able to keep both Braylon & Santonio past 2010. One of those two will be ex-Jets in 2011.

He really didn't drop many balls at all last season. In previous seasons he was towards or at the top of dropped balls per attempt list, he was no where near that last year.

I was one of the biggest haters of the move to get him because of his drops but it really wasn't an issue last season. Anyone still complaining is holding onto the past.

Braylon's drops aren't as much about quantity as about quality. The drop in the Bills game (drop really seems like the wrong word for getting clubbed in the face with the ball) was just sooooo bad. The one in the Dolphins game was pretty bad too, although to a slightly lesser extent, as it was at least something of a tricky angle. He didn't drop receptions last year, he dropped 60 yard touchdowns. And then there was that two point conversion, I forget what game that was in, but that was just a huge, huge spot, and he came up short. The stats don't capture that.

Qualifier though, I agree with Santonio on this one. Braylon Edwards has the potential to be one of the biggest New York sports stars since Patrick Ewing ran this city. I'm looking forward to seeing what he can put together this year after a full offseason with the team.

I love the team attitude by Holmes, the guy won a SB and he knows what type of chemistry is needed to win that game. Who says that the things he wants to talk to Edwards about has anything to do with catching the ball, maybe it's a 1st step or maybe the way he blocks. He did spend some time with Hines Ward who knows a thing or two about blocking.

Leon Lett was a Pro Bowl player for a couple of years, wears 3 Super Bowl rings and was a premier defender for a few years, but most people remember him for either knocking the football through the back of the endzone at the end of the Thanksgiving snow game against the Dolphins, or they remember him blowing the scoring record against the Bills in their first SB meeting when he didn't secure the ball on a fumble recovery for a sure TD.

People tend to remember the giant fuckups over the steady production. Just look at Doug Brien. Getting hit in the fakemask by a sure touchdown ball when you are open sticks with people. Especially when you are known for drops.

Maybe it's me but I am missing the part where Holmes is being arrogant and self important. Sounds like he is helping everyone. I saw a similar article where he is going out of his way to help Wilson.

I guess if you have a bad rep, people will jump on someones dick for nothing at all. In fact they will jump on it when that player intentions are in fact good. I like the fact he is trying to coach, help other players if he thinks he can help. It sure as shit beats whining about contracts and or playing time.

Please Santonio, don't steal anything!!!! Hate to see you put in an awkward situation.

As for the potential of keeping either Holmes or Edwards, wait until the season is over and see who stands out. This is one battle that has to play out to prior to predicting a winner. Also, hopefully by then the NFL and the Players Association will have a CBA agreement.

Excellent post, I don't look at a guy trying to help his team get better as arrogant or any of the other things that were said by others. I'd much prefer he and Edwards are on the same page because that means Sanchez can be comfortable when throwing either the ball.

Just being devil's advocate here, but he seems to like to talk about himself a lot.
