For those of you who haven't been paying attention, Chris Johnson has also had some comments about Revis' contract negotiations. A reporter asked Osi and Tuck what they thought of the contract negotiations between the Jets and Revis and they answered; it really is that simple. If you want to be pissy with somebody you should be upset with either the reporters (trying to justify their salary by asking ridiculous questions of players who probably don't care any more about Revis than they do any other player getting his pay-day) or you could blame the Jets FO (for not paying Revis the money we all know he's going to eventually receive and letting this start to become an issue). These threads are going to be around for a while, so my advice to everyone that is currently PMSing on this thread (or any of the other dozen Revis-related threads) is to get some thicker skin and be ready to hunker down for at least another month.
What else would players say? Ask another GM and they'd probably side with the Jets FO. Signing Revis to this kind of contract would make two players at this position highly paid, which would in turn probably begin to drive up the salaries in the CB market.
The Radiers set the Market for Elite Qb and unfortunately the Jets have to follow suit. Revis has to be paid and this is something they can not mess up. He might be the best Jet ever when all is said and done.
Thank you! Is there a conceivable situation in which one player would say about another "No. He should accept a bargain-basement deal for the good of the organization." On a side note, numerous posters are bitching about the abundance of threads RE: Revis and other Jets-related offseason news. I am wondering how many of these posters throw out the "we get ignored and don't get any respect!!" mantra when the media has nothing to say about the Jets. I know a ton of Giants fans (and probably members of every other fanbase as well) do this, but it annoys me all the same. I guess there's no pleasing some people.
Oh if it's what Umenyiora and Tuck wants then let's get it done. I mean we wouldn't want to disappoint the Giants.
