http://reviews.cnet.com/8301-21539_7-20007644-10391702.html?tag=smallCarouselArea.0 The Microsoft E3 2010 press conference has just wrapped up and the company finished things with a bang, debuting a brand new slimmer and edgy all-black Xbox 360 with a 250GB hard drive and built-in Wi-Fi. More shocking, Senior Vice-President Don Mattrick announced that this redesigned Xbox 360 will be available in stores this week for $299. Also noteworthy was the mention of a "whisper quiet" operation, which is an acknowledgment to the current 360's loud jet-engine fan system. Judging from our product shots, the slim Xbox 360 features an on-board digital optical audio out; a standard Xbox 360 AV port; HDMI out; five total USB ports (two up front, three in back); a smaller power interface; wired Ethernet; and a custom Kinect port to its left. An Xbox 360 250GB spec sheet also tells us that most original Xbox 360 accessories will work with the new console, though hard drives and memory units will not. The slimmer Xbox 360 also has touch-sensitive controls for power and disc tray operation. Current Xbox 360 owners will have the option to buy a transfer cable to move data from their old console to the new one. More on the new slim Xbox 360 as it develops.
I already pre-ordered one yesterday... Mine is on it's last RROD leg so It'll go upstairs. Don't know why your article calls it a "Slim". It's not, 360 w/802.11N & a 250 GB now built in...I guess slimmer would be better
Never really Needed one. My HDTV is a 10 year old 2nd Gen which was pre HDMI. Probably gonna get a new set this year.
They lowered the price of the arcade to $150. I sold my old 360 yesterday and picked up an arcade today to get 3 more years of rrod warranty. Ended up only having to pay like 30 bucks. Any word on when ESPN is gonna release on 360? I don't think I'll bite on the redesign any time soon. Wireless isn't worth an extra $150 for me.
Wireless N not just wireless also 250GB, better cooling, quieter, more USB ports and Natal/Kinect ready... and ftr, good move. If I didn't have a RROD box I'd probably do the same but mine is a 1st gen so it's basically a secondary box.
Oh man I realize how what I said if you took it to me talking to you could've had me sounding like such an asshole lol. Nah I have the old model 360 but a new vizio hdmi 1080p tv. the problem is if im spending money i wanna plunk down on another console, not a 360 upgrade.
^ I didn't mean to be like oh royal sucks to be you to have a shitty old 360. because its possible someone could read into it like that. i was talking about myself and the current 360 plight im in, (which isnt bad im still enjoying the shit out of rdr)
Not at all, didn't take it like that, figured it was just a general statement So yeah, now about you being an A-hole...
How much do you think I could get for my 1st gen 360 with a 20gb HD and wireless adapter? I kind of want to upgrade to this
Probably no more than $100 with the new price drop. http://www.cheapassgamer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=261609 At gamestop 360 Slim Trade Promo. Ends ????) However, there is no expiration liated in the e-mail. There you guys go.
I might be the asshole that just decapitated you over by Casa Medruga. Ok I've had this game for about a month and I seriously still cant stop playing.
I think the $100 is for the base console and you get extra for the accessories , meaning I could get get $170 with the hd and adapter. $130 to upgrade for a sleeker console is still kind of steep, although it would be a no brainer for me if it had blu ray capabilities.
The first one was so badly designed, leading to them being pretty much unable to fix the heat problems (apart from correct thermal paste.) The xbox needed a completely new design to fix the RROD problems, so hopefully they've concentrated on addressing that.
